My Summary
About Me
An individual who has a creative, open-minded and empathetic attitude and works well in a team. Punctual, polite and flexible. Someone who is able to quickly understand the emotions of others and offers a great deal of support to anyone in need. Able to find multiple solutions to issues and react quickly to sudden changes.
A person who is passionate about self-expression with proven ability of self-motivation and resilience. Passionate about change and expressing the values that they believe in (such as equality, diversity and ending stereotyping). Someone eager to learn and develop their knowledge.
My Experience
My experience has included having to manage many responsibilities of ranging severity including tasks such as Support with homework, taking part in activities and Ensuring that all children are fed, put to bed or taken to/from school on time (depending on shift).
However, of course, my main priorities have always been ensuring that all children are safe and content and that all children are comfortable to voice any concerns or anxieties they may have. I have resorted to successfully achieving these requirements through gentle caring techniques and learning through information and decision in place of punishments, to ensure that all children feel they can communicate with me minus any judgment.
On top of this, some of the children I have minded have suffered from mood swings and some sensory issues. I have experience with sudden, often rather intense, behaviors including emotional meltdowns, meaning I have experience and knowledge that other applicants might lack in relation to children with sensory sensitivities or neurodivergent children that would be of large benefit to the staff team within your facility.
I also have experience helping to care for non-relative loved ones on the much more co-dependent level of the ASD spectrum as well as other neuro diverse disorders so I am very aware of possible triggers, reactions & solutions for them.
More specifically, I have experience with a child of 12 with a much younger neurological age who has official diagnoses of ASD(severe), PDA and OCD. She is described as having.extreme needs and attends a specialized school school for children with extreme and complex needs and is taught within a special unit within the school. As well as this she participates in ABBLS-R.
