About Me

I'm Covid-19 Vaccinated

Hello, my husband and I are both professionals working in the healthcare (A&E doctor) and finance sectors. We have a son called Joseph (Joey) born in May 2023, and had a daughter, Charlotte in March 2024, they are only 10 months apart. Although I am on maternity leave we sometimes need a bit of extra childcare especially when my husband is away working in London or abroad (several times a month), and I will be starting to do more adhoc work days in the run up to returning to work.

Additional challenge is that I have just had major surgery on my hip and so I’m not able to lift and carry the babies now until the end of January.

We have a wonderful full time nanny, however we are currently dependant on a combination of her and my family helping us, and this is not always available to us meaning we will absolutely need extra support at times, such as some weekends and if our nanny is not available for any reason.

Joey and Charlottte are growing up bilingual with English and Dutch, but also have regular Spanish exposure and this is something we highly value. Joey loves music, puzzles and books and enjoys being outdoors. He's a very sociable little guy, doesn’t seem to have any stranger danger and he likes interacting with people. He also loves travelling on the train and bus and going on adventures.
Charlotte was born 8 weeks premature but is doing very well and has no complications from being premature. She’s a relatively easy baby over all, but she can be a bit of a koala baby and a diva, and seems to need a lot more attention and physical contact and cuddles than Joey does. Joey seems fascinated by her, and although they’re still very small, sometimes they make each other laugh which is lovely.

My Requirements

Babysitter
Night Nanny
Mothers Help

As we have a full time nanny, we are only looking for some people who might be able to help us with some ad hoc extra hours during the week, evenings or weekends, to add to the time our nanny already helps us if my husband is away with work or if our nanny isn’t available because I can’t look after the babies on my own at the moment. I’m also not able to do much of anything in terms of household chores since I can’t bend down; this severely limits what I’m able to do around the house so a bit of light housework is also helpful. We have a cleaner once a week so it wouldn’t be much. But the focus would be on support with the babies.

Generally speaking during the day I will likely be in the house at the same time since I’m not due back to work until March 2025 and I like being around my babies, but I am so limited in what I can do with them because of the hip precautions post op it means I will always need another person in the house with me helping me with the babies- diaper changes, bath time, bed time and meals- I can’t do any of these things at the moment.

Also, my husband and I do try and maintain a light social calendar so there will be some evenings we would need a babysitter. We wouldn’t expect our nanny to work all day and also cover the evening.

We did have a number of wonderful ladies helping us out on an ad hoc basis, but since one of them is now our nanny and several of the others are no longer available for us we would be happy to have an extended pool of people to draw on for assistance when it comes up.

Please get in touch if you would be interested in being part of our babysitting pool! Thank you so much!
