About Me
Family Profile: Our family comprises three children - an 8-year-old girl, a 6-year-old boy, and a delightful 1-year-old baby boy. The older two attend school full time and are actively engaged in various clubs and social activities, while the baby is happy, with great sleeping and eating habits.
Girl aged 8: she is super sporty, netball obsessed, and has lots of lovely local friends. She loves art, Lego, Sylvanian families and is currently teaching herself the piano. She is reading Babysitters Club and Sweet Vally High and her mummy is reading her Harry Potter. She has ADHD however this is being well managed with medication.
Boy aged 5: he is very theatrical and loves to sing and dance. He is currently obsessed with superheroes and very interested in space. He likes art, football and loves play dates with his friends.
Baby aged 15 months: a wonderful baby boy who is in a well structured nap and sleep routine. He sleeps through the night from 6pm-6am and still has two naps per day totalling 2.5 hours. He eats well and loves all food. He has a rare form of Down Syndrome (Mosaic Down Syndrome) so has some extra developmental needs, however, he is a very easy, happy and chatty baby who loves outings to the swings, ducks and being read to.
Mother: starting a new senior role in mid-June after 18 months off with the family. New role will require one night away per week and some international travel.
Father: a long haul pilot for British Airways meaning he is away regularly but also has long stretches at home where he likes to be hands on with the childcare. This means the nanny will often have days off during the week (with no salary deduction) to spend as they wish!
Pets: no pets.
Living Arrangements: if Live In then the nanny will live at the maternal grandparents' home, conveniently located within a short 20-minute walk or a brief 10-minute bus ride. The house is mostly unoccupied as the grandparents have a second home and frequently travel, providing the nanny with significant personal space. For the right candidate we will consider Live Out.
Location: Our home is situated in the vibrant and leafy Battersea area of London, offering an abundance of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, baby groups and recreational activities for both kids and adults. Proximity to Wandsworth Common (1-minute walk) and Clapham Common (10-minute walk) makes outings with children super easy. The area is well-connected, facilitating easy access to all parts of London and the UK.
My Requirements
Seeking: We are in search of an experienced, kind, warm and friendly nanny to provide full-time support in caring for our three children and handling light housekeeping duties (note: heavy cleaning is managed by a dedicated cleaner). Our aim is to establish a long-term partnership with our nanny, fostering strong and affectionate bonds with our children.
Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 annual gross salary (depending on the candidate’s experience and/or if they are live In/Out)
Financial Benefits: in addition to salary
* Starting Bonus: £500 cash
£250 cash paid on day one with family
£250 cash paid on successful completion of probationary period
* Annual Bonus: a discretionary maximum £1,000 cash bonus to be paid on successful completion of annual performance review
* Annual Salary Increase: annual increase of 2%
Hours: 20 to 50 per week.
* Due to father being a pilot there are often occasions when he is at home during the week and will do the childcare himself so the nanny’s working week varies depending on his schedule.
* Nanny’s salary is never deducted if she only works a few days. Salary is fixed at the agreed annual amount.
* Occasional overnights as needed. These will not form part of the core hours (See below for compensation) and will be very rare.
Days: Standard hours will be Monday-Friday 8am-7pm however will vary week to week depending on father’s schedule.
* Rota given a month in advance once father’s rota has been published by British Airways.
* Our previous nannies have averaged a working week of 3 days.
Overnights: very occasional overnights as needed. These will come with a £50 overnight bonus paid in cash.
Babysitting: 1 night of babysitting per week included in the agreed salary. Uber home if working after 9pm paid for by the family.
Overtime: There is no paid over time with the role however in the unlikely event that overtime is accrued (i.e. nanny works more than 50 hours in one week) then time off in lieu will be given.
Other:
* Live In: if Live In then the living accommodation, household bills and food all included. Accommodation is separate to the family home, a 20 min walk, 10 min drive or 15 min bus ride. The house belongs to mother’s parents who live mostly at their second home, so the nanny will have the house to themselves a lot.
* Holiday: 20 days of holiday per year plus all bank holidays. One extra day of holiday added for every full year worked.
