About Me
Hi my name is Megan, I’m a newly OFSTED registered childminder based in Owlsmoor. I’m a mum to my lovely two year old son and have two family pets who are well socialised and very friendly.I have a cat and a puppy. There are lots of benefits from having pets around children. They are both very social and have been raised around children. I will never leave the animals unattended with the children. Im very family orientated and love spending time with my family, both immediate and extended.
I offer a home from home style setting where I will cover the 7 areas of learning with lots of opportunity for play and crafts including; painting, play-doh, colouring, water play, baking and opportunities to explore the world through woodland walks and outings to local parks, farms etc. I will progress the children through their own needs and requirements. I will do this by observing them and I will progress them by following their likes and dislikes within play. I understand that not all children of the same age will develop at the same speed and some children require more guidance.
I’m level 3 certified in Early Years Childcare as-well as Health and social care.I have a current first aid paediatric certificate and level three safeguarding as required by Ofsted.
I have spent the last two years working within a care setting, providing care for people living with dementia. Previously to this I worked in multiple nurseries which ran along side my early years course.
I currently have a full time and part time space available starting from January 2025
School pick ups may be considered where possible.
My Experience
I have a level 3 certificate in early years education , level 3 certificate in health and social care, paediatric first aid training and I have previous work experience in a nursery.
For the past two years I have worked within a care home specialising in dementia care and previous to this I studied Early years, health and social care and public services at college while maintaining a part time job in sales.
