About Us
Welcome to Puddle Ducks Preschool!
At Puddle Ducks, we embrace a unique learning environment nestled in the beautiful village of Alvingham. Children grow and develop with the outside world, caring for our sheep and pet animals. They will end their time at Puddle Ducks in our woodland setting, where we follow the Forest School approach. Our preschool group allows children to explore nature while learning to care for our environment and enjoy a year of the outdoors, lighting campfires and cooking using tools.
We prioritize using natural materials wherever possible, fostering hands-on experiences for our children. While we occasionally incorporate other materials, we are proud to integrate elements of the Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies. This allows our little ones to enjoy enriching activities both indoors and outdoors. Our setting is to work around different family lives and shifts so that parents have peace of mind knowing that their children are getting the best opportunity in a caring and loving environment.
Our Forest School program is a cornerstone of our curriculum. We venture into our woodland area daily, where children engage with the natural world. For those preparing to start school the following September, we offer daily Forest School sessions in addition to following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines. Since September 2023, we have also implemented the Development Matters framework to ensure a comprehensive and tailored learning experience.
At Puddle Ducks, we believe that every child is unique and special. Our nurturing family approach enables each child to develop and grow at their own pace in a way that suits them best.

We offer different pricing structures related to funded children. We do ask you to make a Voluntary contribution to enable us to offer our flexibility, forest school, and outdoor experiences?
