About Me
We are a busy family of 5 with a dog (Labrador) living in Paisley.
We require help with our eldest (8years old) who has Additional needs.
My Requirements
Looking for Personal Assistant/Support worker for my son, an eight year old boy who is Autistic.
I am looking for someone who can be fun, stimulating, engaging as want my son to have a broad range of fun and enriching experiences with someone he feels bonded to.
It would be ideal if you live near Paisley and drive.
The Personal Assistant/Support worker will support our son in accessing social, educational and leisure opportunities, and assist him to take part in activities outwith his immediate family. This support is to be provided in the community, or at home.
An emphasis is mainly on social opportunities for him in the local community, and activities based on his wants and needs which at the moment are going to the park, playground, shops, swimming etc.
My son loves swimming so anyone who is trained and is able to teach him or take him swimming would be a bonus.
During the week, we are looking for after school support but if that’s not always possible and you prefer working a weekend instead then we are quite flexible and can look into that as well.
The main priorities are to keep him busy and engaged. He is a lovely wee boy and very affectionate. I need someone who is loving but equally firm and fair as my son listens to someone with structure and routine.
Rate and hours can be negotiated however currently it’s only 6 hours a week but we are in the process of getting them increased through social services. In the meantime we can look to add extra hours for the right candidate outwith the social services.
We also have membership to the local health club (David Lloyd’s) and we go as a family. My son attends the group classes so it would also work if PA can sometimes join him in those activities and keep him engaged.
There are multiple social opportunities with in the health club like booking tennis/badminton court, swimming etc and the right candidate can accompany him there, safeguard and help him access those opportunities.
