About Me
We are a family of 4 with two young boys aged 4 and 5 years. Our 5 year old has ASD (PDA profile) and undiagnosed ADHD. My husband runs his own business and works long hours. I am a stay at home mum who works from home occasionally. Our 5 year old is currently on a very reduced timetable at school due to anxiety and feeling overwhelmed at times. This is having an impact on our family life as caring for him and keeping him regulated can be quite emotionally draining. We feel it may be beneficial for our family to have another adult work with our son occasionally to provide respite and prevent parental burnout.
My Requirements
We are looking for an experienced SEN nanny with understanding of ASD and in particular PDA. You will be working with our 5 year old, keeping him regulated and engaged in activities that interest him or supervising when playing independently. He likes his own space but we feel it is important for him also to improve his communication skills and social skills by working with others in a nurturing way. He is a sensory seeker, loves novelty, humour, imaginative play, science, maths and being outdoors. The right person should be creative, easy-going, patient and kind.
We live in a small village which conveniently has a playground and nice country walks nearby. A car is essential for getting to us since transport links in this area are limited.
