About Me
We are a family of 4 with two young boys aged 5 and 6 years. Our 6 year old has ASD (PDA profile) and ADHD . My husband runs his own business and works long hours. I am a stay at home mum who works from home occasionally.
Our 6 year old has a reduced timetable at school and is awaiting a place at specialist provision. Due to his needs not being met he is currently unable to attend mainstream school full time as it is too overwhelming and full of demands which causes anxiety. This has impacted our family life as I have to care for him when he is not at school which can be demanding and doesn't allow me to have any 'me time'.
My Requirements
We are looking for an experienced SEN nanny with understanding of neurodiverse needs to start working for us part-time in September 2025. The right candidate will have a calm, friendly and patient demeanour with a good sense of humour who can give our son undivided attention which he thrives on. You will need to collect him from school (a short walk from our house) when he finishes (at lunchtime) a few times a week and spend the afternoon with him doing activities or playing with him at home or outdoors. He is fun-loving, creative, curious, loves science experiments, nature, cooking, building, water play and is a sensory seeker. Some days he is on the go all day, and others are pretty chilled where he may just want to watch TV or play games on his tablet. He just needs someone to engage with him, take an interest in what he's doing and feel safe with so he stays regulated. We have a low-demand approach and don't enforce anything academic when he is at home, but he loves learning so if you are creative, you will be able to offer learning activities in less traditional ways.
A car is essential as we live in a small village without many transport links. It also offers flexibility of visiting parks and places of interest.
