About Me

Hello there,
My name is Melissa and I am a Nanny with 35 years experience. I have cared for children from birth up to young teens, and have also looked after baby twins. I am NNEB qualified and also OFSTED registered. I am on the DBS Update service, have a Paediatric first aid certificate and my own Nanny Insurance. I am an experienced driver with my own car.

I can provide checkable, excellent references for the entirety of my working life.

Hobbies and Interests
Crocheting, live music, photography, most forms of crafting.
I am a serial crafter who enjoys sharing new ideas and projects with my charges.

Personal Attributes
I am a hard working, reliable, trustworthy person, who is more than capable of self motivation. I work well alone, with little guidance, and as my written references show, I enjoy building long term relationships with my families. Indeed I am Godmother to one of my previous charges.
My approach to Nannying is calm and relaxed, whilst making sure that goals are met, and jobs are done. I prefer to see myself as an extension of a child’s parents during the hours that they cannot be with their children. I encourage the children to talk to me, and to open up to me if they have any worries. I would hate to think a child was upset, or holding something in until their parents get home, rather than open up about a problem which is probably very easily solved. I am also adept at forming good relationships with parents.
I enjoy developing the creative and social aspect of a child’s personality, but am also more than happy to give those little extra pushes in the direction of the homework books when it is needed.!
I am very experienced with children of all ages, and have had sole charge of babies from six weeks old.
(I hesitate to say that) I am fit and healthy, with only one (very short) period of illness during my current job.
