About Me

Hi my name is Lottie I’m a student and I have 5 years of experience in the childcare field! I’m a compassionate, creative and highly dependable and I seriously love hanging out with children. They are so full of amazing energy and are a joy to be around. With a background in art and education, I'm dedicated to helping children grow into confident, intelligent, and happy individuals.

Experience:
As a qualified Teaching Assistant at a primary school, I've worked with children of varying ages and abilities, including those with special needs such as Autism, ADHD, mental health issues, and Dyslexia. I've also had extensive experience babysitting for families. My experience teaching dance and roller skating tricks to kids from ages 4-17 has shown me the importance of making learning fun and engaging. In addition to this, this summer for two months I have been Au Pairing in Prague for a wonderful family with kids of the ages 1 and 4. This has given me vital experience with younger children.


Qualifications:
I have 9 GCSE’s and I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design and a Foundation Pre-Degree Diploma in Fine Art. I've also completed training in basic first aid, fire safety, and safeguarding. My Enhanced DBS check is up-to-date.

Approach to Teaching and Development:
I believe that every child is unique and deserves a personalized approach to learning and development. I use a combination of positive reinforcement, encouragement, and interactive activities to help children develop their skills and confidence. I'm also passionate about promoting healthy emotional development and enforcing good behaviour while also attending to emotional needs swiftly whilst maintaining boundaries. My experience as a TA has taught me the importance of consistency, patience, and understanding in helping children overcome challenges.

Cooking
As a lover of cooking, I focus on healthy diverse eating and enjoy experimenting with new recipes and flavors. I'm always looking for new ways to make mealtime fun and engaging for children.

1. Childcare and development - planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, monitoring child's development, incorporating interactive play.
2. Animal care- I love animals so am happy to help with any pet duties.
3. Safety and first aid - experience administering basic first aid, knowledge of emergency procedures.
4. Organisation and time management - experience creating and sticking to daily schedules, managing multiple children at once.
5. Communication and problem-solving - experience communicating effectively with both children and parents, resolving conflicts and behavior issues.
6. Meal preparation and feeding - experience planning and cooking healthy meals for children.
7. Cleaning and housekeeping - experience keeping play areas tidy, laundry, and light cleaning.
8. Discipline and behavior management - experience setting and enforcing boundaries, redirecting negative behaviour, positive enforcement.
9. Creativity and playtime activities - experience planning and leading creative activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor fun, reading, and games.
10. Patience and flexibility - experience handling unexpected changes and disruptions, staying calm under pressure.
