Hi i’m Sophie, born and raised in NW London. I completed 7 years at a full-time performing arts school in the heart of Central London and then moved onto complete my A-Levels, UAL Level 3 & and Level 4 Foundation course in Production Arts. Being a freelancer in the live events industry is what I do, but of course that comes with having a lot of free time which I am looking to fill. I’m young, fun and a bubbly personality who enjoys the imagination and creativity that comes from working with kids. My experience working with kids from when I was a young age means I’m well versed with the highs and lows and how to deal with them appropriately, while of course still having fun! - Thank you for reading.
My Experience
From the age of 13 - 17 I worked at a summer school dealing with large groups of children from the ages of 6 - 18. I had the responsibility of getting them from A to B, lunch time management & safeguarding. Of course many of the children had their own needs which I had to accommodate to throughout the day at the same time as keeping everyone’s spirits high.
I also babysat my younger cousins and family relative's children from when they were under the age of 12 months. Doing this allowed me to understand the needs a baby may have throughout the night. For example, changing nappies, night feeds & relaxing them back to sleep.
Lastly, I worked at Hamley’s toy shop. I would often be dressed up in a character costume and entertaining children of all ages. This was tricky as you can imagine younger children may have been scared of the bigger outfits. Being a performer allowed me to play the character using more welcoming body language and communication skills so that they would feel at ease and distracted from the hustle and bustle of the busy shop. Safeguarding was also a big priority as small children like to run out the front door a lot, being able to catch them and entertain them in character as a distraction was common practice.
My Qualifications
I am fully DBS checked. I have a full and clean drivers license with no claims. I am CPR & AED trained.
My Availability
As I’m a freelancer my availability is random but I do have a lot of free time. It really depends on as and when you would need me, feel free to contact me about any dates you have in mind. I have highlighted the times of day I would be available if I wasn’t onsite working.
