About Me
Hi my name is Julie. I have been a Ofsted registered childminder for 18 years, with 30 years experience of being with children as my eldest child of 4 is 31 My daughter Gemma is 30 and registered as a childminder to work along side me at my premises. On our last inspection in Nov 2017 received an overall rating of 'GOOD' with three aspects of outstanding.
I live in a large 4 bedroom house with three reception rooms. I live with my hubby as all the children have flown the nest. ’We have a large amount of toys and equipment for a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors. My garden has a large patio area, with a substantial lawn area, fully enclosed by a large fence and locked side gate.
We have two family dogs a 12 year old border collie called cassie and a 7 year old border collie called jess both have been with me since puppies and have always mixed with the children and are very good.
We keep our days busy and varied with all sorts of activities such as farm visits, going to the park, walks around Tiddenfoot and stockgrove, toddler groups, music groups, gyms, plus indoor activities painting, gluing,baking play doh and lots more.
I like to think that every child we care for have a home from home feeling with us and whilst they are in our house they're considered to be part of the family!

My Experience

After being at home and caring for my own children and my youngest was approaching school age I decided that childminding would be the best career move for me, and have been successfully doing so for over 17 years .
Gemma.
Babysitting experience on a regular basis.
Over 6 years working in Shaggy's playworld at Mead Open Farm.
Placements at local playgroups and early years at Greenleas school.
Two sisters that have been with my mum's childminding since they were 6 months old (currently now 10and 11 years old) have been taken on days out over the weekends on numerous occasions to the farm and the zoo.
Child care at Aylesbury college.
My Qualifications

Introduction to childcare practitioners course.
Valid first aid certificate.
Regular attendance at N.C.M.A course to keep myself updated.
Lots of online courses to keep up to date with everything including safeguarding
Gemma.
CACHE Level 3 in chikdcare
CACHE Level 2 (a diploma in childcare and education)
A valid first aid certificate.
Also attend regular N.C.M.A courses to keep myself updated.

Our little boy started with Julie and Gemma when he was 9 months old. I was naturally a little anxious about the shift from maternity leave to going back to work and my baby going into childcare. All I can say is that I needn’t have worried! The settling in sessions went well and our son settled in very quickly. The days are fun, varied and creative with lots of outdoor play, art, baking and trips out. I feel like there is a genuine affection and a lovely connection between our son and both Julie and Gemma. He goes in happily every time and I know he will be safe and cared for; I don’t think you can ask for more than that!

At what can be a daunting time, leaving your child for the first time, I was confident from the outset that our daughter would be happy and well cared for with Julie & Gemma; they truly do provide a home from home.
They provide a range of age-appropraite activities (such as visiting the farm and attending music classes) and the home is well set up for independent and imaginative play. They provide home-cooked meals and happily cater for dietary requirements.
Julie & Gemma come highly recommended as brilliant childminders.

My daugher has been with Ju and G childminding since 11months old and she is now nearly 4. She enjoys the home from home family atmosphere and the fact that Julie and Gemma provide a wide variety of activities. These include going to the farm, zoo, music groups and local parks. My daughter is clearly very happy to go and on the days she is not with Julie keeps pictures etc to show her. I find that Julie and Gemma show a genuine interest in my daughter and how best to make sure she is happy healthy and developiing well. It is obvious that both Julie and Gemma love their work. I find both Julie and Gemma flexible and easy to work with. I would thoroughly recommend this child minding service
