About Me

Hello there! I am Charley / Char and I am 30 years old. I am child-free (sadly) and living in Yate with my husband and my 2 dogs. I have a CACHE Level 3 Child Care and Education qualification and had been working as a nursery nurse for babies until pre-school from 2014 until 2019 (more about this can be found in the 'My experience' section). I had other roles in the customer service industry but I've now taken the decision to work for myself and help others with their pet care, home care and child care needs.

Helping people, pets and children (particularly children and pets) are my passion.

I love the Montessori approach although I am not trained in this specific area, i have worked at 2 Montessori based nurseries as well as implementing some of the basic's of this initiative into other work places / working for nurseries who provides some focuses into Montessori.

I am very hands-on in terms of I enjoy playing WITH the children rather than sitting back and helping the children to come up with their own thinking, creativity and understanding of how the world works.

I have great knowledge of the EYFS framework and would centre my activities, care and approach around this, to help the consistency for your child if they are in nursery.

I can provide EYFS observations of children whilst in my care and also do EYFS reports of them during my care if parents would like me to. I really enjoy recording the child's progress and find it really rewarding when something just 'clicks'.

I will base my approach on my previous experiences of working in nurseries, complete with sleep-time checks (if needed) , a daily report / communication book to help you have a record of what we have done in our day, toileting and eating trackers etc.

Basically, I'm like a sort of mobile nursery nurse that comes to your home.

I am open to being a baby-sitter for a few hours or a 'nanny' for more consitent care. Please note, I'm not a good cook and can only put together a frozen or tinned meal with fresh veg/fruit and nursery-style snacks. I can make packed lunches, and basic snacks however any fresh meals would need to be provided by parents.
