About Me
Based in St Margarets Richmond, our family of four are seeking a Nanny Housekeeper to help support us with both childcare and the smooth running of our family home.
My Requirements
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6 hours daily from 7:30am – 1:30pm.
To begin January 2025.
We have a 10 year old daughter and a 4 month old baby boy. Dad is out of the house during the week at the office, Mum is currently a stay-at-home Mum and looking to gain some time for herself in the mornings and will at some point return to part-time morning work.
DAILY TASKS
• Walk our daughter to school (30 min walk), often taking baby along in his pushchair (weather dependent) where he will also then have his morning nap. In bitterly cold or rainy weather, you can drive. School drop-off time is 8.15am latest.
Back at home, some days will be more nanny duties focused and some will be more housekeeping duties focused, often they’ll be a mixture of both.
- NANNY DUTIES WITH BABY -
• Look after baby, for how long could vary from day to day. Could include preparing a bottle and feeding with expressed milk, preparing food (in the future), changing nappies, putting him down for naps or taking him for a walk outside in the buggy for naps, engaging in playtime with him during his wake times. Keeping his drawers of clothes tidy.
As baby grows older, nannying duties will expand to looking after him most mornings including taking him out for walks, to the park or activities.
- DAILY HOUSEKEEPING TASKS -
• We would like you to handle the household laundry.
• Make the three beds and empty bathroom bins.
• Tidy up from breakfast, unload and load the dishwasher and do any washing up from breakfast. Dry up and put away.
• Prepare a healthy family meal that can be reheated later that evening, and a simple bowl of salad and some chopped fruit, cover and refrigerate. We can plan the meals weekly. Sometimes instead bake a cake or cookies, or batch cook a meal for the freezer.
• Leave kitchen clean and tidy after cooking. Sink to be clean, washing up to be dried and put away, surfaces to be wiped down.
• Take out rubbish bags and recycling daily and put in the correct bins in the bin area outside.
• Keep a list of anything we need to buy or replace – products, food items – we can keep a shared list in the kitchen.
• Help to keep kitchen cupboards and fridge tidy and organised.
• Put away Ocado (Tuesdays & some Fridays) and Riverford (Wednesdays) food deliveries.
• On days where there is little to do, pitch in with some ironing, sock pairing, or things that need doing around the house.
We have a weekly cleaner who comes on Thursdays for 8 hours who handles the whole house cleaning from top to bottom, changes the bedding, and completes the weekly ironing.
- THE RIGHT CANDIDATE -
We are looking for somebody to join us in our home who is warm and friendly with a positive outlook, confident and relaxed in themselves and their abilities, flexible, practical, who is also great with the kids!
Must like children and enjoy engaging and playing with baby, taking him out on walks for some of his naps (weather permitting) and taking care of his needs.
For the housekeeping aspect of the role we need somebody who moves at a good pace, is thorough in their work and able to look around and see what needs doing and get on with it without always being asked.
- Previous experience of nanny-housekeeping preferred.
- English speaking.
- Confident with preparing food and following recipes.
- A driving licence and own car essential since it will be needed sometimes for the school run (all fuel costs covered).
- Availability for occasional, paid evening or weekend babysitting would be a plus for us.
There is also a generous paid holiday allowance since we tend to travel regularly.
