About Me
We are a young family with a baby, a cat and a dog. We are a multilingual and cultural household, both of us work from home with the occasional office day. We are keen to meet child minders living nearby who can take care of our child 4 days a week, we are open to have all other children they take care of in our home a few days a week. This way we can see our child more often as well. Start date is mid-February 2025.
My Requirements
We are looking for a child minder to take care of our 11 month in February 2025 for 4 days a week. We have a dog but keeping in mind that a child minder will have to divide their attention across more children we would prefer no dogs, unless all of the below requirements are met:
- the dogs are kept in a separate space normally
- any exposure to the dog is planned and supervised, i.e. no other chores
- the dog is not an aggressive/overly territorial breed
Description:
- Organising creative educational activities at home such as games, drawing and crafting
- Preparing children’s meals and feeding them, including bottle-feeding
- Scheduling naps and teaching baby good behaviour
- Tidying up play areas and rooms after baby and ensure his safety indoors and outdoors
- Administering the right medicine and taking care of baby in case of injury and illness
- Working with parents to ensure baby's growth and social development
- Support with potty training
Who you are:
- Sound understanding of child psychology and the stages of child development.
- Excellent organisation skills and cleanliness.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and successfully complete tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be patient and maintain self-control in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient first aid and CPR skills to deal with injuries and cuts - demonstration of certificates is ideal.
- A good and effective communicator, for example inform us of any outdoor activities before you take them (doesn't need to be the day before or at the start of the day if you are unsure, as long as you do it before you take-off) so we know where our child is at all times.
- You prioritise a safe environment for our baby, this means a fully baby proofed environment with basic child safeguarding measures in place, example: front door is locked so no-one can enter the property from the outside without a key, baby gates in front of stairs both ways and so forth.
- Two references upon request, children must have been with you for at least 3 months.
- Ideally speaks French but not a hard requirement.
- PVG Disclosure Scotland provided for all individuals living in the property.
- Inspection report from care inspectorate.
