My Requirements
Hello, I'm looking for someone who could support my 14-year-old nephew with RPM (Rapid Prompting Method). It's a spelling teaching method. You can find out more from the UK RPM Charity called Unlocking Voices. The RPM approach assumes that non-verbal autistic people are intelligent and RPM allows them to learn how to communicate/express their thoughts through participating in lessons, which are based on age-appropriate knowledge.
My nephew is a gentle and happy boy but he is non-verbal and has limited communication skills. I've been supporting him using RPM but I can only do it over the weekend so I'm looking for someone who can do RPM with him during the week. Possibly 2-3 times a week for 30-60 minutes, but there is flexibility there.
I'm happy to teach this communication method and pay for the time required to learn it. Please get in touch if you're happy to learn RPM and help my nephew get a voice. Thank you.
