About Me
SOME RARE SPACES AVAILABLE FROM AUGUST 2024 with a waiting list open for expansion in the Autumn, currently open Monday - Thursday with plan to open Fridays in the Autumn.
Hi I'm Emma and I am an energetic, bubbly person living rurally just outside the Chiseldon area only 5 minutes away from Junction 15 of the M4 and also the hospital so an ideal location for commuting parents. I have recently completed my Early Years BA Honours Degree to ensure I am highly qualified but continue working full time as a Childminder (Level 6). I also work as a consultant for the Department of Education providing mentoring support to other Early Years professionals. The setting was recently inspected by Ofsted and we were graded outstanding in all areas.
I am happy to consider any age children from newborn to 16 years old. If I do not have a space immediately I am happy to reserve a space for later on in the calendar year.
I can offer a school holiday only/term time/full time/part time service, over night care and also weekend cover on a case by case basis. I'm happy to offer ad-hoc care for parents attending interviews, special occasions, home educators, special needs or just to give you a break.
I live in a rural location with plenty of indoor and outdoor space with a purpose built outdoor playground within my garden. All of my own children attend full time school/university so I am dedicated to looking after your children only. We do have 2 indoor Ragdoll cats, 2 guinea pigs and a very friendly horse, Alfie, kept at our local farm.
I run a dedicated 9 seater people carrier for childminding only so your children will always travel safely and comfortably on all of our adventures.
My first assistant has an Early Years degree and my second assistant has over 25 years experience as a Teaching Assistant within schools. Both are registered with Ofsted and trained in First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and DBS cleared.
If you are looking for lots of fun - think about alpaca walking, paddling in streams, cuddling piglets then please give me a call. I am not the stay at home type!
I accept all 1/2/3/4 year old funding, government funding and private payments.
.
My Experience
I have brought up my own 4 children, ages 26, 21, 19 and 14 alongside a full time demanding career that required commuting so understand the needs of working parents. I've now decided to use this experience and have more fun whilst looking after other people's children and parents understanding the flexibility to make this work for everyone.
I have experience with cleft palate, asthma, allergies, reflux, and Aspergers/autism and am happy to try most things with the support of parents.
My Qualifications
I am a registered childminder with Ofsted, DBS checked and paediatric first aid trained. I have been childminding just over 10 years and have plenty of references available. I have completed my Early Years Degree and offer a less expensive alternative to Nurseries with a lot more variety to offer a more rounded experience with the dream of opening my own Early Years Farm school. I also work as an Early Years consultant for the Department of Education supporting other early years professionals.
I am privately educated, with additional language skills if required in French and some German and have plenty of experience with working with other cultures including Ghana, Poland, Lithuania and many more.
I work most days with the help of 2 qualified assistants and this allows me more flexibility with an extra pair of hands and lots of new ideas.
My Availability
I can be available immediately depending on your specific requirements and do have the ability to scale up as I work with 2 full time assistants. I can be flexible on hours required to accommodate shift working patterns, single parents or different cultural needs. Please drop me a line or a text we can discuss your specific needs over a play and a coffee.

Amazing array of activities, trips and treats... above and beyond

Response by What Parents Want on 06/06/2020:
Thank you David. I think the trips might be curtailed a little in the next few months but we can still take plenty of country walks and visit lots of animals in this strange world at the moment. Thank you for letting me care for Number 2.
Emma has looked after my little girl since she was 4 months old and I honestly would not have coped without Emma's support, advice and guidance. Emma fills the children's days with so many exciting trips that my child loves reciting about. They've been to the theatre, crocodile world, farms, butterfly world and so many other fantastic places. The education pieces that Emma does with the children is just truly amazing, Lily knows about the lifecycle of a caterpillar and tadpoles! How much Lily has developed over nearly 3 years is just amazing so thank you so, so much.

Thank you Kristina. We love having Lily here and I love sharing new adventures with her. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon after this lockdown is over.
Emma and her team are truly amazing, my daughter who has been with me only for nearly 2 years, and was a really mummy’ s girl, has settled in very quickly, without any drama and she even naps on her own when at Emma’s which is still a mystery to me ( as she never falls asleep on her own at home). They organise some great outings and adventures for the children and a lot of time is spend outdoors in the parks etc which is just wanderful. Every day there is something planned for the little ones and they explore new places.
The setting offers really bright, airy and immaculately clean rooms. Plus a lovely garden to play in. When I first met Emma I just instantly knew it was a place for us and my daughter felt “ at home” there, from day 1. I highly recommend Emma, she is always smiley, everything is well organized and my daughter asks about her every day. I feel very lucky to have been able to find a space there.

Thank you Anna. I am so happy you are pleased with my setting and team. Sophie is a pleasure to look after and has settled so well. I look forward to her progress and many years of working together and having fun.
My LO has been with Emma for almost a year now. She's started when she was just over one and I must say I can not imagine a better care for her. Emma has made the transition so simple and my LO loved staying with her from the start :) She's always offered good advise and I can not thank her enough for everything she does. All the activities and trips Em arrange for the kids helped my LO to gain self confidence and be more independent. My LO is always excited to go there and I really never thought it will be so easy for both, a child and a parent, to start this new step in our lives!
I cannot imagine anyone better to look after my baby girl and I am so happy I was lucky enough to find space there.
Oh and the setting! Light, airy and spacious indoors and quiet rural outdoors are just perfect for those little explorers!
10/10! :)

Emma and her team are absolutely fantastic, we always greeted with a happy face, it is clear that they love what they are doing! My children love going to Emma's, although they are only there for a few days to break up school holidays they fit in and settled incredibly quickly and constantly ask when they can go back to see Emma. Emma and her team put in a lot of time into planning their days to suit the group of children that they are caring for, meaning each time my children have come home they are full of stories of the exciting things that they have done. After my children's experience with Emma she would always be my first choice for childcare
