About Me

Dear family,

The first thing I want to do is introduce myself and tell you about my experiences.

I am Yolanda, I am Spanish and I have been living in the United Kingdom for 7 years. I am a loving, kind, organized person, always punctual and always willing to help in any way and to improve. It is true that my English is not the best, however, I am able to understand conversations and also to express myself. Every day I learn something new and every day I try to improve my English.

I have a large family, we are 11 siblings and 35 nephews. I studied the Degree in Social Relations (Labor Relations) at the University of Huelva (Spain), the Title of Teacher of Spanish for Foreigners ELE in Granada (Spain). Certificate of Pediatric First Aid (Ofsted) and updated DBS (London).

Since I moved to the United Kingdom I have worked as a nanny with 6 lovely families, although I worked temporarily as a housekeeper in 4 and 5 star hotels and in Kindergarten as a housekeeper.

With the first two families it was for two or three months, due to the needs of their work life, but they were two lovely children, one 8 months old (Olivia) and the other 11 months old.

For almost 2 years I have taken care of 3 children (10 months, 4 years old and 7 years old), I took the older ones to school and extracurricular activities and the rest of the day I spent with little Stanley going to different activities appropriate to his age (sensory, painting, swimming, among others). It was a wonderful time and that was during the pandemic. (Sep 2019 – Aug 2021)

Then with my princess Alice, with whom I worked full time, I have been by her side for 3 years now. When I started taking care of her she was barely 1 month old. We went to the park, sensory activities, swimming, games at home, among others. Then her dad enrolled her in kindergarten and now I only take care of her on Tuesdays, Thursday afternoons and Saturday afternoons. We have a great time. (Nov.2021-Present)

With the last family I worked with, it has been 3 wonderful years (they are like my family). I started with Freya when she was 3 months old (as she says, I'm her best friend). In June last year, Mac was born (a sweetheart). I've done everything with them (games, activities, picnics in the park, swimming, and visits to children's museums...). We've gone on holiday to Spain, the United States, and Brighton to the beach... But the time has come to say goodbye because in September they went to live in the United States. (Oct 2021 – Sep 2024)

My day to day with them consists of taking them out from early in the morning until lunchtime, so every day I look for some activity (whether in parks, museums, libraries or in specialized places), educational games at home adapted to their age.

During this period of years working as a nanny, I have been and continue to be the hands and feet of each of the families I have worked with, what I try to convey is that I have been in their play area and with their clothes always tidy, helping them with the potty, weaning them from breast milk, cooking healthy meals adapted to their age,... In addition, parents know that I am here whenever they need me.

This is just a little about me and my experience, but I have more to share with you and it will be a pleasure to have the opportunity to introduce myself and tell you more about my experiences as a nanny.
