About Me

Dear family,

The first thing I want to do is introduce myself and tell you about my experiences.

I am Yolanda, I am Spanish and I have been living in the United Kingdom for 7 years. I am a loving, kind, organized person, always punctual and always willing to help in any way and to improve. It is true that my English is not the best, however, I am able to understand conversations and also to express myself. Every day I learn something new and every day I try to improve my English.

I have a large family, we are 11 siblings and 35 nephews. I studied the Degree in Social Relations (Labor Relations) at the University and I am a teacher of Spanish for Foreigners ELE.

Since I moved to the United Kingdom I have worked as a nanny with 6 lovely families, although for a year and a half I worked as a housekeeper in 4 and 5 star hotels (intermittently) and in a nursery as a governess.

With the first two families it was for two or three months, due to the needs of their work life, but they were two lovely children, one 8 months old (Olivia) and the other 11 months old.

For almost 2 years I have looked after 3 children (10 months, 4 years old and 7 years old), during this period I used to take the older ones to school and extracurricular activities and the rest of the day I spent with little Stanley going to different activities such as music, painting club, swimming classes, among others. It was a wonderful time and that was during the pandemic.

Then came my princess Alice, with whom I worked full time, I have been working for 3 years now. When I started taking care of her, she was barely 1 month old and she went to the park, did sensory activities, swimming classes, among others. Then her dad enrolled her in kindergarten and now I only take care of her on Tuesdays, Thursdays (6:30 pm to 10 pm) and some weekends (half day). We have a great time. With the last family I worked with, it has been 3 wonderful years (they are like my family). I started with Freya when she was 3 months old (as she says, I am her best friend). In June of last year, Mac was born (a sweetheart). I have done everything with them (games, activities, picnics in the park, swimming, visits to children's museums,...). We have gone on holiday to Spain, the United States, Brighton to the beach... But the time has come to say goodbye because in September they went to live in the United States.

My day to day with them consists of taking them out from early in the morning until lunchtime, so every day I look for some activity (whether in parks, museums, libraries or in specialized places), educational games at home adapted to their age.

During this period of years working as a nanny, I have been and continue to be the hands and feet of each of the families I have worked with, what I try to convey is that I have been in their play area and with their clothes always tidy, helping them with the potty, weaning them from breast milk, cooking healthy meals adapted to their age,... In addition, the parents know that I am here whenever they need me.

This is just a little about me and my experience but I have more to share with you and it will be a pleasure to have the opportunity to introduce myself and tell you more about myself and my experiences as a nanny, courses I have taken and also references.
