About Me

I am level three Cache qualified term time only childminder with option of some school holiday cover if required. I working with an assistant, rated good by Ofsted in November 2022, living in a house in Tolworth/Surbiton borders, opposite Tolworth girls school and I am registered to accept 3/4 year old borough funding. I have a lot of experience with children from birth to teens, gained through bringing up my own children, both now working in childcare, my daughter another childminder and my son teaches PE in a primary school. I am also a qualified athletics coach and have gained my current up to date knowledge through working in a childcare environment for the past 10 years, firstly as a nanny then a childminder.

I provide good and varied activities for the children in my care and aim to provide a setting that is welcoming, safe and stimulating, loving home environment where children are able to enjoy learning and grow in confidence.


I try and provide an environment that is fun, educational and nurturing. I cater activities to meet the age and individual needs of each child. I do this by getting to know the child and parents well over a settling period as well as visiting them at home. I try and communicate with any other settings the child attends to check their progress and keep communication open. Observations during their play, social interactions etc are used with EYFS Development Matters guide to complete their Individual Development plan as both a starting point and to support their learning and development.

I try to ensure that I offer play that is fun and stimulating as well as educational. I therefore try to be as creative as possible. At home I ensure that where possible we have play outside as well as inside and often leave out and rotate different toys. I also encourage children to have free play where they can help themselves to any toys which are all in easy access. With regard to activities that I provide within the home we often have a craft or cooking activity on offer such as painting, water play, play dough, sticking etc. But I try and give children choices. We have noisy fun times with singing and instruments to play, puppet shows and role-play as well as quieter times with books, puzzles and occasional TV or DVD. Outside of the home we often visit playgroups in the morning or parks and have lots of fun days out, with passes to places such as Chessington, national trust, bushey park etc. I believe in children getting fresh air whatever the weather as long as it is fun.

I try and provide opportunities for learning such as when reading books encouraging them to look at shapes, letters or numbers and whilst out we look for objects. I also encourage children to cook to help measure out using numbers and motor skills.
