Hi, I'm Amy and I'm an experienced teaching assistant currently working in a local primary school.
I am a enthusiastic, bubbly person with lots of energy and love bringing my creativity to my practice. I have an endless supply of fun, creative ideas for tried and tested engaging and educational play activities. I am a big lover of all things messy and sensory play and if I am covered in Playdough, glitter and sand it has been a good day!
I genuinely love working with children and their families and believe it is a huge honour to be able to do so! Caring for children is a very important job and not one to be taken lightly- I am fully DBS checked, have a paediatric first aid certificate and can provide multiple references on request.
My Experience
I have a wealth of experience with children from 2 years old upwards. I am a specialist SEN practitioner and have worked with children and young people with a variety of needs including learning difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, ASD, physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, GDD and challenging behaviours.
I am trained in Speech and Language and have experience supporting children who experience communication difficulties. I am fluent in the use of Makaton and can use PECs and communication devices to support children.
I am a trauma informed practitioner and have worked closely who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. I am kind, empathetic and able to take into account the whole child.
My Qualifications
Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health, Mental Health Champion, Paediatric First Aid, Attention Autism, Managing Big Feelings in Early Years, Makaton, Art Therapy Level 2, Anxiety Disorders in Children, Trauma Training, Level 2 Food Safety, Team Teach & De-escalation.
My Availability
I am currently working in a school but putting feelers out to see what level of interest there may be in my services.
I could potentially be available as a live-out nanny (full or part time) or for occasional or regular babysitting.
