About Me
My name is Dan, I have over 4 years childcare experience as a childminding assistant as well as caring for my own two daughters.
I have recently become fully Ofsted registered at my own home.
I am supported by my wife Jess, who is registered with Ofsted and fully trained.
We have two daughters of our own who are 4 years and 1 years old, therefore I fully understand the needs of working parents.
I have numerous qualifications which has given me very good knowledge of child development and working with very individual children, some with complex needs.
We set up Stepping Stones Childcare to give parents the chance to leave their children in a warm, caring family home from home environment.
At Stepping Stones Childcare being a small family setting we can fully support your child with high quality care.
We have a child friendly,fun educational garden space for the children to play. I also often visit local parks, the seaside, zoo and library as part of our daily activities.
While in my care, children will be learning and developing to their full potential whilst having fun. I will be supporting your child’s development using the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS).
My Experience
Choosing childcare for your child can be a very daunting experience. Maybe you are returning back to work, or feel your child needs to be mixing with other children, or you just need a little break. Leaving your child you have raised and know all about, their little ways, their likes and dislikes etc can have mixed emotions. I fully understand that leaving a child in someone else’s care can be a very difficult experience for some parents. I will work closely with you to ensure you and your child are fully supported with this change, whilst getting the most out of the time they are in my care.
I will in addition, make sure I know as much as possible about your child before you leave them in my care. If your child has any disabilities, a medical care plan will also be put in place.

My Availability
I have availability from September 2025 Monday - Wednesday 8am - 5pm.
I am currently full until September 2025.
I am able to drop off and pick up from Elm Tree Primary school.
I am closed bank holidays.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
My fees are £6 per hour for any non funded hours.
I accept government childcare funding for children from 9 months.

We feel incredibly lucky to have Dan as our childminder at Stepping Stones Nursery. From day one, he has shown the utmost care, attention, and thoughtfulness in looking after our two young children. His ability to tune in to their individual needs, personalities, and development stages is truly exceptional.
Dan creates a safe, loving, and stimulating environment where our children feel completely at ease and most importantly, happy! They absolutely love their time with him, and it's easy to see why. He seamlessly combines learning and play, offering a wide variety of engaging activities and fun, educational trips that have truly broadened their experiences and social interactions.
He is endlessly kind, trustworthy, and considerate not just with the children but with us as parents too. Dan's attention to every detail, from their routines and emotional wellbeing to the creative ways he keeps them learning and having fun, is second to none. He takes such genuine pride in his work, and it shines through in everything he does.
We honestly cannot recommend Dan highly enough he is a rare gem and an absolute delight to have caring for our children.
