About Me
I am an enthusiastic teacher, who would like to pass this on to the child, so they enjoy their learning. My hope is that I support the children to learn and grasp the concept. My favourite part of teaching is watching that 'light-bulb' moment appearing on the child's face. It makes it all worth-while.
I believe children learn best when I tailor my teaching to suit their learning needs. I understand all children learn differently and I hope that by working together we can find a strategy that will enable them to learn. There are often times were I have stood in front of my class and looking back at me are a set of confused faces. This does not worry me as I always have another way to teach an objective ready. I very much think on my feet and adapt to the needs of the children. This would be the same within a tutoring session. If one particular way does not work, then we will take a step back and find an alternative route to the learning outcome.
During the sessions I am very happy to work on whatever it is your child needs support in. I am happy to work in many areas of the curriculum due to my background in Primary school teaching. These would include: Maths, Literacy, Science, Geography, History and many others. I am also happy to help and support with GCSE, Literacy and Maths.
My Experience
I would hope to make a great tutor as I have 5 years experience as a qualified teacher within Primary education. During this period I have worked with a variety of age ranges (6 to 11 years old). I am currently a Science and Eco coordinator and have previously been a PE coordinator. During this I have worked with a range of children. Children with SEND needs, children with EAL and children who are reluctant to learn. All this experience is key as it helps gives me the skills to keep developing as a teacher.
As stated above, I have a good coverage of knowledge within all the primary school subjects. I am aware of the expectations of the Year 6 SAT's, due to teaching Year 5/6 for the last year and currently this year. If you are preparing for anything else, I am more than happy to get to grips with the exam and then pass on that information whilst tutoring. I can tailor my time to suit your needs.
My Qualifications
I have a range of qualifications from 11 GCSE's, the International Baccalaureate (similar to A levels but covering more subjects) and a BA hons in Primary education. All of these qualifications link to the subjects taught in primary school - including Spanish!
