My Experience
Cared for three children for four years - twins initially aged one year old, one of which
had a hearing impairment, plus a six-year old. Duties included meeting the daily needs
of the children such as preparing meals, organising creative and educational indoor
and outdoor activities, plus support and learning activities tailored for the child with the
hearing impairment. I developed strong communication skills by having regular
updates with the parents regarding the children’s progress and their well-being.
Additionally, I managed light household tasks and facilitated outdoor play, promoting
physical and cognitive development. This role helped me to broaden my earlier
experiences from the hands on care and management role I developed in a nursery
environment. This assisted me to diversify my skills and experiences, and to build a
more solid foundation in childcare; reinforcing my passion to support children’s growth
and happiness. I am seeking a role in nannying going forward.
