About Me
Hi, I am Poppy and I have just finished my degree and am now looking for a nice way I can use what I've learnt to help others! I absolutely love maths and want to maybe transfer a bit of that love to others. My focus in sessions is all about encouraging solo thinking and gaining confidence in ones own abilities. I am also a very keen home-cooked meal chef and love the journey that cooking can take you on, even if just for a few hours. Sitting back with a healthy hearty dinner made from scratch is often what relaxes me after a long day and I'd love nothing more than to be a part in showing others just how easy it is.
My Experience
I have been a self employed tutor since the age of 17 and have been doing childcare since the age of 16. I have experience tutoring ages of 5-35 and love every second of it. I realised that creating fun activities for children was something that came naturally to me when at 16 I went down to look after my new born cousin and his older brother and found that the laughter we shared was second to none. After that, I looked after a 2-year old once a week where I would cook dinner, play, have bath time and do bed time routine with stories and songs. A year later I also started looking after a 4 and 6 year old after school. I would pick them up, play games and go on walks and help with any little homework tasks before cooking dinner and getting ready for bed. More recently I was an au pair for a year in Spain where I looked after two children of 8 and 11. Here I helped a lot with any maths and English homework and generally made sure that their days were full of fun and care. We cooked together, went on adventures in the surrounding areas and when it was rainy I organised treasure hunts and other games that could be played inside the house-I am still in touch with the family now.
My Qualifications
I have a 2:1 in mathematics from the university of Manchester
I have A-Levels: A* MATHS, A* FURTHER MATHS, A PHYSICS
GCSE: A*-maths, physics, chemistry, biology, Spanish
A- English, Welsh
B- French
My Availability
I can be available at any time. I have some sessions of tutoring that happen every week but they are flexible so I can be as flexible as is needed.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £20.00 per hour
There might be a slight increase depending on level of tutoring wanted or on number of children present! I am flexible for low income households so please do talk to me and we can work out whats best for both of us :)
