About Me

I'm a passionate and experienced speech and language therapy student who loves working with children of all ages. With 4 years of experience working with young children, I'm confident in my ability to provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment.

I'm sporty, enthusiastic, and patient, I am more than happy to help with any homework, reading, and other activities. I am empathetic, trustworthy and have good listening skills, with a quietly calm approach to all situations, I understand young people and love being around them and being able to see the world through their eyes

I'm certified in health and social care and have recently completed a pediatric placement as part of my university course. I have been lucky enough to have had many experiences working with young people through sports, education, family, and within my community. I love the immediacy of the impact I am able to make. From personal experience, I understand how much an individual can make a difference in a person’s life and make them feel comfortable and safe in their environment.

I'd be delighted to meet your family and discuss how I can best support your childcare needs.
Please do not hesitate to contact me and ask any questions I would be more than happy to answer.

My Experience

I am currently a second-year speech and language therapy student studying at the university of Greenwich.
Working within the healthcare profession is something I have always aspired to, I have undertaken many courses throughout my education which reflect this, such as psychology and health and social care GCSE, followed by a level English language which focused on child language acquisition, and sociology.
I have participated in many volunteering roles which I believe have provided me with many essential skills which are needed when working with young children.
I became a literacy mentor for year 7 pupils with various learning needs. Practicing active listening with empathy helped me ameliorate difficulties they faced, tailoring literacy tasks such as reading & games to build their confidence.
I also completed a week’s work experience at a primary school and learned valuable skills when asked to support twins who were taking part in Speech and language therapy outside of school. As well as a pupil, who had recently arrived as a Ukrainian Refugee, who did not speak English. I was able to help her integrate into the class, coming up with inventive ways to communicate & engage.
Whilst working towards my gold DofE, I developed a further interest in working with young people. I have undertaken voluntary work at local youth clubs and schools, often preparing food and encouraging a safe space for all who attended to play and explore their surroundings. I of course enjoyed playing with them and seeing the world through their eyes.
I completed a Sports Leadership Program which involved many hours of volunteering and coaching with groups of children in sporting clubs and events with ages ranging from reception to year 9. I was responsible for leading a group of at least 15 children, coming up with ideas for their activities, and running the group sessions.
I have had lots of experience babysitting young children of my parent’s friends and family, and also often look after my younger brother
Over the summer I spent a little over a month abroad in which I volunteered at a school. I taught a class of English to the local children, aged 5-7, later in my time there I had the amazing opportunity to work and teach older students of 15-17 as well in the evenings. Both of these classes left me with the most incredible experience and I am beyond grateful to them for making my time so special, I learned so much from them.
Most recently I completed a term of a speech and language therapy placement. I had the opportunity to work within a range of specialties such as the NICU, to in clinic therapy sessions. I spent the majority of my time working with young children with autism and Down syndrome, ranging with focuses from swallowing to aiding with communication. My placement was focused mainly on working with ages 0-5, however, I did have days in which I worked within special schools within the community working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
