About Me
My name is Fiona, I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder. I offer a home from home service. I have been childminding for eighteen years since finishing maternity leave with my second son.
Becoming a childminder had been the best career change I have made (my previous job being a PA in marketing) it’s been so rewarding and fulfilling, I only wish I had started years before!
I am located off Hoe lane, EN1, close to the A10, not too far from Turkey Street train station.
I appreciate location is an important factor when choosing the right carer for your baby, and I may not be the closest, so I would invite you to visit my home for yourself. Several families have travelled a little further than they had first planned once they saw that I provided a warm, safe, friendly, home environment with a family atmosphere in which children feel loved and valued, where they can play, learn and develop.
We have weekly visits to Willows Activity Farm and Hertfordshire Zoo, I also meet up with other childminders to expand the children’s social experiences and learning adventures.
I’m afraid I no longer offer pre-school or nursery drop off or collections in the middle of the day (wrap around care).

My Experience
I have been childminding for 18 years, my aim is to provide and maintain a high quality of care for all the children in my care, within a loving home environment.
As a parent I understand how difficult it is to leave your baby/child whilst you return to work and I wish to make this transition as easy and comfortable as possible for both the baby/child and parents. I have a lot of recent newborn experience as well as preparing little ones for school.
I aim to provide a happy and caring environment for your child to develop through play their Physical, Cognitive, Linguistic, Spiritual, Social and Emotional Skills.
I aim to ensure that your childs individual potential is recognised and nurtured as I believe that every child is unique. Through play and development I aim to offer your child an environment free from prejudice and discrimination.
I provide activities linked with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework, to enable your child to develop in all areas.

I will have two early years spaces one from July and the other from September 2025.
I offer a Childminding Service between the hours of 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday - I am also available for occasional weekend work.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
I charge an hourly rate of £8.50, with a daily rate of £75 for 8am-6pm
I offer sessions for the Government funded 15 & 30 hours

My son was with Fiona for 2 years until go to reception. George learned lot of things there and he had great time too. Fiona is a lovely person that always tries to help and be flexible. I would recommend her 100%.

Fiona has been looking after my daughter from the age of 8 months up until now (5 years) As a very overprotective mother myself, I was very anxious about returning to work so soon after having my daughter. Upon meeting Fiona I immediately felt reassured and comforted. She is a very friendly, caring loving person. With many years of experience. Her home is a cosy safe haven for all ages of children. And I would trust her with my life! Always flexible whenever I need her. Always supportive. The children all really love her. My daughter got upset when she started school as she wanted to continue staying with Fiona and the other children full time. Fiona is very nurturing. Always fully organised and has plenty of fun activities for the children to do! My daughter absolutely loves her and loves being at her house. Such a lovely welcoming atmosphere. I wouldn’t trust anybody else with my child! For me.. absolutely perfect!! Can’t thank her enough xx

My daughter went to Fiona’s for 3 and a half years and the only reason she stopped is because she started school. Fiona is a lovely lady, she was always flexible and my daughter loved going there. I never worried about her safety and felt completely satisfied when I left her to go to work. Really couldn’t of asked for a better childminder!

Fiona has been looking after my children for over 6 months. They were so happy with Fiona. She is a very good childminder, caring, understanding, reliable. My daughter was 3 and my son 4 years old. The difference between Fiona and other childminders is that she doesn't provide the care of a childminder but the care of a mother. I would never leave Fiona but I had to move to another area. My children are still asking for her every day and we are planning to keep in touch! Definitely the best childminder I have ever had.
