Hi everyone, my name is Uma, I am 20 and I have recently moved over to Cardiff from Sydney Australia to support my partner in his rugby career! Throughout my entire life I have always had a huge passion for working with and helping children. I have big maternal instincts and have always gravitated towards working with young children. I truely enjoy it and believe that I can help to have a positive impact on the lives of the little ones that I work with, I think it is because I think of myself as a big kid! I am currently doing university online so my schedule is flexible, I am hoping to find a family here in Cardiff that I can help nanny for and foster a good relationship with.
My Experience
I have been babysitting and nannying for families for the past 7 years for children between the ages of new born to 11 years old. For the past two and half years, before making the move to Cardiff, I was the Educational Leader and Area Leader at South Coogee Children's Services a before and after school care centre in Sydney. I was in charge of creating the educational program for over 300 children, working full time, in charge of 12 staff members on a regular afternoon and overlooking the safety and wellbeing of 150 children. Working at this centre was an incredibly rewarding and meaningful time of my life, I discovered my true passion and I am still in contact with many families that are at the centre.
My Qualifications
I have my Working with Children's Check (Australian qualification required when working with children)
HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
I have completed my Child Protection Course; CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk.
