Hello! My name is Nichola, and I have devoted the past nine years to working with children of all ages and abilities. My experience includes roles in nurseries, primary and secondary schools, as well as supporting children with Special Educational Needs.

I have a deep love for nature and art, which I incorporate into my work. Whether it’s exploring nature spots by walking or cycling, engaging in imaginative crafts, or creating expressive art projects, I believe these experiences are essential for nurturing a child’s emotional and mental health, curiosity, and a sense of wonder as it allow children to express themselves and build confidence.
I excel at building strong relationships with children and families, fostering open communication and trust. Whether I’m assisting with homework, creating engaging and educational play opportunities, or offering gentle guidance, I am committed to helping children flourish in a nurturing environment.
My Experience
I have gained nine years of experience working with ages 0-16 through my career. I spent four years as a special education needs assistant with ages 3-11. I then moved into a family support role for two years, where I observed and supported parents meeting their children that have been placed in care. The ages of those children ranged from 0-16. I helped many mothers learn skills on how to support and look after their new born babies out in the community. After my time here, I moved into a new role in secondary school providing pastoral care. My focus was supporting the families, managing behaviour and providing interventions for mental health and life skills. As well as this I also run an art club for children 3-10, creating different crafts based on our weekly theme.
