About Me
I am a well-educated, professional single lady with grown-up children who wants to start winding down my professional career, but I do not want to stop working. I am a mom to three of my own, two stepchildren, and one foster daughter, and a few grandchildren. My children and grandchildren are spread worldwide, and I miss the hustle and bustle of a busy home. I also know too well the difficulty of balancing being a working parent and how challenging it is to find reliable, quality care for your children while building a career. Minding children of all ages is a joy for me.
My Experience
Other than being a working parent myself and qualifying as a registered nurse and midwife many years ago, I have not done this work before now. I will bring creativity, fun and humour to work, always with boundaries firmly in place. I am great with logitsics, best when I'm busy and always on time and reliable.
My Qualifications
Qualified by experience :). I qualified as a nurse and midwife after leaving school and specialised in emergency care. I haven't worked as a nurse for a long time, but I haven't forgotten my medical training, especially first aid.
My Availability
I manage my own time with my current job, I have flexibility so I can be available for morning school runs, fetching from school, assisting with after-school activities and homework, preparing an evening meal, and preparing for the next day. I can be flexible, at times with short notice, to babysit, holiday care and/or do evening or weekend childcare. I am open to a short-term assignment filling in for someone, doing a few slots a week as a regular commitment or doing ad-hoc slots when needed.
