My Summary
About Me
Hi there! I'm Aithne, an experienced childcare practitioner with a strong passion for working with children. I’ve had the pleasure of working in a variety of settings, including nurseries, schools, and with individual families, and I’m now looking to expand my experience into part-time or full-time nannying, as well as offering babysitting services.
With a solid background in child development, I love creating fun, engaging, and nurturing environments where children can thrive and feel supported. Whether it’s helping with schoolwork, planning creative activities, or simply providing safe, caring supervision, I’m dedicated to making sure each child’s needs are met in a caring and attentive way.
I understand the importance of building trusting, positive relationships with both children and families, and I’m excited for the opportunity to bring my skills and passion into a new role. If you’re looking for someone reliable, caring, and experienced to help support your family, I’d love to hear from you!
My Experience
I’ve always had a passion for working with children, which led me to complete my HNC qualification in 2017. I find it incredibly rewarding to watch children grow and develop their unique personalities. My career began as a pupil support assistant in a school, where I gained valuable experience before moving into nursery work. I started as a practitioner and, within a year, was promoted to assistant supervisor. Not long after, I became a supervisor, where I took on greater responsibility in managing teams and ensuring high-quality care. Eventually, I transitioned into a developmental role, where I supported classrooms and teams across the setting, helping them improve and grow in their practice. Each step of my journey has allowed me to contribute more to both the children and the teams I work with, which is something I truly enjoy.
My Qualifications
In 2017, I completed my HNC in Early Education and Childcare, which is equivalent to an SVQ Level 3. I am committed to maintaining up-to-date training and professional development. Some of the courses I have completed include:
- First Aid and Paediatric First Aid
- Food Hygiene
- Manual Handling
- Schemas and Learning Environments
- Whistleblowing and Child Protection
- Positive Behaviour Management
- Infection Control
- Epilepsy Awareness and Administering Midazolam
My Availability
At the moment, I work full-time Monday to Friday, 9-5. However, I’m looking to reduce my hours and have more flexibility. I’m particularly interested in exploring a full-time nanny position. Currently, I am available during evenings and weekends, and I’m happy to discuss how I can best accommodate any needs.
