About Me
I am a dedicated, bubbly and passionate trainee primary school teacher with classroom experience working with children aged 5 to 11. I have a strong interest in creating engaging and inclusive learning environments, particularly through drama and play. Outside of the classroom I serve on Kids and Youth team at my church and am a well known and trustworthy adult to the children in my local area.
Other interests:
As well as being a full time student, I am also an accomplished singer-songwriter. My music has been featured tv shows such as Greys Anatomy, and I have performed all over the UK. I even had the opportunity to go on tour around Germany with the American Grammy nominated band the Black Pumas.
My Experience
I have completed multiple teaching placements in different year groups, gaining hands-on experience in lesson planning, behaviour management, and adapting teaching to support diverse learning needs. Additionally, I have worked as a children’s librarian and a support worker in various childcare and educational settings, further developing my ability to support children’s learning and well-being.
Experience with children with SEN:
I also volunteer for a charity called TREASURE, a charity dedicated to support families, particularly single mums, on the margins. Over the past three years I have worked closely with a profoundly autistic child who was completely non verbal when I first met him; during this time, i have supported his significant improvement in speech development.
My Qualifications
DBS:
I have undergone a dbs check and I am registered with the update service.
Full Driver's Licence:
I have a full drivers licence so I can commute to and from clients' homes.
SEND Experience:
As stated above, I have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) but also, as a support worker, I also worked in settings where I was supporting adults with special needs teaching and helping them with basic life skills such as personal care,communication and daily living activities.
I am currently in my third and final year of university, training to become a primary school teacher. I study science as my specialism to deepen my expertise in science education. My practical experience and academic studies have equipped me with the skills to provide high-quality teaching and support to young learners.
During my time as a support worker I underwent first aid training, paediatric first aid training and epilepsy training. However, as I am no longer with the care company the qualifications are invalid.
