About Me
I am a kind, responsible and trustworthy babysitter with over 10 years of experience with children from 4 months - 16 years. I am available for evening and weekend babysitting. I have a full clean licence with my own car and am comfortable with pets (able to include dog walking alongside childcare services).
I grew up in Brighton with two older brothers and had a lovely, active childhood. When I finished my A-Levels I knew I wanted to travel and see the world and thats just what I did. Over the years I have spent time studying Spanish in Ecuador, doing ski seasons in the French Alps, surfing in Portugal and I even lived in New Zealand for a year and a half. In 2023 my job in workforce management in the renewable energy industry was made redundant due to my company being bought out, and I took the opportunity to take a break and travlled around South America for 6 weeks.
I am now working as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant in Neurorehab, helping people learn to communicate following a brain injury and I love it. I plan to start university in September to complete my Speech and Language Therapy degree. I then hope to explore working in paediatric settings.
Although I have many skills and passions, food, being outdoors and music are my top 3! I am a massive foodie and love spending time cooking nutritious meals and baking delicious goods. I have worked professionally preparing food in a cafe so have a lot of experience and love to share the joy of food with children. I think bringing a child up with a healthy relationship with food is so important in this day and age.
My ideal activity is going for a long walk in nature, taking the time to appreciate nature and this is a great activity to do with children. Playing games outdoors, visiting local parks, or going on woodland walks trying to spot different plants and animals is so fun but also educational.
I can play guitar, drums and piano at a basic level and love sharing this with children, its a great way to encourage creativity whilst also learning something new.
My Experience
I have worked as a babysitter for over 10 years. I have worked as an evening babysitter for multiple families, responsible for entertaining the children, bedtime routine and being there to solve any issues and provide comfort. I have also provided daycare for younger children on an ad hoc basis. This has included full day care for an energetic 2-year-old. I was in charge of feeding, park visits, nursery picks up and drop off, nap time and educational activities. Most recently I have worked as an after school nanny for a 5 year old. I really enjoy spending time with children and being able to see the world through their eyes, giving them a safe space to be able to explore it.
My Qualifications
I have had basic first aid and childcare skills training through a childcare agency within the last year.
I am currently working as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant and will be starting university in September to pursue this further.
