About Me
I am a 2nd year History and Politics student at the University of Glasgow. I hope to become a teacher after I graduate and love working with children. In my free time I like to play lacrosse and when I have the time perform in plays. This summer I’m also hiking the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. I’m originally from rural Surrey so I’ve always loved the outdoors and a good walk.
My Experience
I spent 3 years volunteering with Girl Guiding as a leader running activities such as bush craft and baking. As well as this I provided overnight supervision for camps. I love new experiences and I’m always up to try new things, something I liked to encourage with my Guides when we did activities such as abseiling and archery alongside face painting and sewing. At school, I ran ‘Give-it-a-go’ sports sessions for younger pupils and ran the Model United Nations Club. I was also prefect and responsible for the supervision of pupils age 7 and up at break times. I am the oldest of 4 so spent lots of time looking after my siblings growing up who are now 10, 12 and 16. Through Guides and school I also have extensive babysitting experience. I am comfortable with and grew up around dogs. I have worked for Clark’s in the children’s department for multiple years, fitting baby and school shoes.
My Qualifications
I have a DBS check and training in safe guarding and health and safety as part of my work with Girl Guiding.
