My Experience
In my previous roles, I have worked with children with special educational needs (SEN) in both mainstream education and specialist resource units. I have also supported children in care who have experienced extreme trauma, including those with complex needs such as autism. I am skilled in navigating emotionally charged and challenging environments, having provided support to women who have faced sexual violence. With an MSc in Psychology, I have built a strong foundation in understanding human behaviour and how to effectively offer support in diverse and sensitive situations. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a commitment to empowering those I work with.
I also bring personal experience in childcare, having raised my younger two siblings (one from birth) in the face of a challenging and unstable parental background. This experience has deeply shaped my understanding of the importance of building strong, trusting bonds and fostering relationships based on mutual respect. Through this journey, I’ve developed a strong, unbreakable bond with my siblings, who now entrust me with their struggles and well-being. The lessons I’ve learned have been invaluable, and they have further strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, empathetic care.
I have had extensive training on ACE's, supporting difficult behaviour, using PACE, de-escalation, recognising signs of FGM, PREVENT training and Children's Safeguarding.
