I am a kind and considerate person who has a lot of patience and can be trusted. I am very good at organising and helping people with different jobs that they may need done and do it to the best of my ability. Although I am quite a quiet person I can work as part of a team. I listen to and act upon advice given and can be relied upon to carry out tasks. I plan journeys accurately so that I am not late. I have worked in nurseries since I was 16 and used to babysit. Though I’m young, I have a lot of pride in working with children, helping them and watching them learn and grow.
My Experience
I have worked in a couple of different nurseries, Fennies, Little Elms and Little Birches, gaining valuable experience from each of the different settings. I have worked with children mainly between the ages of 18 months – 3.
I have worked in nurseries since September 2023 along side babysitting when I was in my teen years.
I have a baby nephew that I look after and help out with. My brother trusts me to take him out, feed him, change him and put him to bed. If he gets upset I stay calm and calm him down. With this and my nursery I am confident in what I do.
When I used to babysit, I made sure I knew all the information I needed to know, such as allergies, bedtimes, if they take naps or bottles and ask what they like to help entertain and encourage play. I have taken children to the park and little adventures depending on what they enjoy and if the carer was happy for it.
For another experience I was in guides for 8 years where I grew up helping the younger ones learn and explore. While growing up I used to help out as a guide leader where I would organise games and activities.
