About Me
Hi, I'm Sophie and I run little sprouts! We are based in the new estate opposite Redruth School.
Little sprouts is a new inclusive, family run nursery for children aged between 9 months and 5 years. We follow the EYFS with a strong forest school influence.
Children will be welcomed into our open plan, family home by myself, my husband Marty and our four pets, Marcy (our 5 yr old Havanese pup), Howl and Dribbles (our black and white cats, 12 and 3) and Rory (our house rabbit, 8). I hope you will find our home a warm and calming home from home, where we will get to grips with exciting topics.
In the garden we have created a dedicated space for children to learn all about planting and growing their own food. Once the fruit and veg are grown, the children will get to enjoy their hard work and learn to cook!
Learning will take place outside in all weather with daily outings to the surrounding areas. But don't worry I'll wrap them up in the cold and keep them cool in the summer! We have all in one puddle suits and welly boots ready to go, and underfloor heating set to a toasty temperature for when they get back. There will be a nutritious meal waiting for them to enjoy and fresh beds and bedding if your child naps.
I am registered under an Ofsted registered childminding agency .
9 month, 2 years and 3-4 year funded places available.

My Experience
My interest in child development was sparked during the first lockdown whilst homeschooling my then 5 year old with my 2 year old in tow. I loved creating activities for my little one to enjoy and continue her development whilst away from her nursery setting.
I took a job in Sep 2021 as a nursery teaching assistant at a local school where I worked with children aged 2-4 from different backgrounds and with different abilities. I enjoyed working closely with parents to build children's confidence and working 1:1 with those that needed it. I was able to use a range of tools to develop communication with children with special educational needs to create strong and trusting bonds.
Now, three and a half years later, I've decided to set up as a childminder so I can create my own fun and inspiring lessons following the guidance of Development Matters and the EYFS statutory framework to make sure your child is progressing through their milestones.
Becoming a childminder means that I will get to work with smaller ratios, which allows me to focus my attention to each of their needs and create more meaningful relationships.

I'm available 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday, I am flexible so please get in touch if you need an earlier drop off or later pick up!

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
My fees cover all meals and snacks including cows milk or a dairy free alternative.
I do not charge subsistence fees and only ask that you supply your own nappies, creams and wet wipes.
Please note that I am registered under a childminding agency who require a £59 administration fee. This fee is waived on contracts which use 3-4 year old funding and 2 year old funding which includes the disadvantaged children's element.
