My Experience

I am a primary school teacher with 9 years of teaching experience. I am currently working as a Special Educational Needs teacher after working within a mainstream setting as a Key Stage 2 teacher for 4 years. Prior to securing my first teaching post in September 2019, I worked as a supply teacher within the Gloucestershire area, teaching children from reception to year 6. Alongside this, I have worked as a private tutor since 2017, accumulating 8 years worth of tutoring experience.

In June 2015, I completed a BA degree in Education Studies. Following this, I proceeded to begin my teacher training and graduated with a Primary PGCE in June 2016. The following year, I enrolled on a MA Education course at the University of Gloucestershire, and graduated with a merit in 2020. As of 2024, I am an Education Doctorate student at the University of Gloucestershire.

Over the past 8 years, I have tutored a range of KS1 and 2 students, primarily focusing on English and Maths. However, I can support your child with any primary subject and, as a qualified teacher, have a broad knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum. I seek to ensure all my tutoring sessions are both engaging and rewarding and, after initially assessing the children’s prior knowledge, tailor each session specifically to each child’s individual needs. I am patient and caring and I am always willing to go the extra mile to help my students grow in confidence and understanding.
