About Me
Hi, I am a first time mum to a beautiful boy named Makari, born August 2024. He’s full of personality, loves engaging with people, and brings so much joy to our lives. Makari has achondroplasia (a form of dwarfism), feel free to google more. We are looking for someone who is kind, attentive, and open to learning about his unique needs as he grows.
I will be returning to work and require someone to care for Makari Monday to Wednesday.
I’m looking to connect with experienced, reliable, and nurturing childcare providers who will treat Makari with the same care and respect they would their own children. Someone who understands that every child develops in their own time, and who can support his milestones with patience and encouragement.
If you have experience with children who have additional needs or are simply someone who’s warm, thoughtful, and passionate about helping children thrive — I’d love to hear from you.
My Requirements
I am looking someone who is confident caring for a baby and can provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
As Makari is a child with achondroplasia, i ideally we’d love someone who is either familiar with, or open to learning about, his condition. This includes understanding how to handle him gently to protect his neck and joints, being mindful of safe positioning, and allowing plenty of floor time for him to develop his motor skills at his own pace.
Feeding, Makari is not yet sitting up so will need to be fed his meals, which will be specially prepared, by me or his Nana.
I would also like someone who will help his intellectual development by reading and encouraging him to say words.
