Hi! I'm Rose, and I'm currently in my second year at Sheffield Hallam University, training to be a primary school teacher, meaning I am DBS checked. I'm passionate about working with children and find it incredibly rewarding to support their learning and development. My university placements have provided me with valuable experience in planning and implementing engaging activities, and I'm committed to creating a positive and stimulating environment. I'm also expanding my skills with training in children’s first aid and have experience supporting children with SEND. Beyond childcare, I enjoy cooking and I love experimenting in the kitchen to create healthy and delicious food that kids will actually enjoy! One of my passions is reading which means in my classrooms I always support children to do reading for pleasure. I strive to be approachable, energetic, and dedicated to providing excellent care.
My Experience
Throughout my university studies in Early Years and Primary Education and my practical experience in both school placements and multiple nursery settings, I have developed significant experience working with young children. This experience includes caring for babies as young as 6 months and children up to 5 years old, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of early childhood development. I am confident in my ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate and engaging activities that promote children's development across various learning areas from ages 3-12. I prioritize fostering positive and nurturing relationships with children, ensuring their emotional well-being and creating a safe and supportive atmosphere. My key skills include adaptability, strong communication (both with children and adults), and a proactive and responsible approach to childcare. I am committed to maintaining a safe environment through my safeguarding training and am equipped to support children with diverse needs, including those with SEND. I am also in the process of obtaining my children’s first aid qualification.
My Qualifications
My qualifications include a combination of academic study and hands-on experience in childcare. Currently, I am studying Early Years and Primary Education at Sheffield Hallam University, which has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies. I have further developed my skills through placements in schools, where I have taught two reception classes, and by working in three nurseries, caring for children aged 6 months to 5 years. I am a proactive and responsible individual, recognized by Sheffield Hallam University with Bronze and Silver awards for demonstrating key attributes such as integrity and adaptability. I also hold training in safeguarding and SEND, and will soon be qualified in children’s first aid.
My Availability
I’m currently looking for babysitting opportunities during July and August, as I prepare to begin my final year of university, where I’ll be working toward gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I’m passionate about supporting children and would love to bring my experience and enthusiasm to a family this summer.
