About Me
Mum of 3 looking for a nanny to join our family for the next few years. 10+ years running own business and lots of experience in being an employer.
My Requirements
We are looking for a nanny to join our family of 5, in Rochester, Kent from September 2025. We have three children and are looking for a permanent, long term position. Gross salary range £26,000-£32,000 dependent on experience and exact working pattern agreed. The right person is really important to us and we have some flexibility in the scope of the role required in order to facilitate this. We are able to offer up to 5d/week (42 hours) for 43.5 weeks of the year which includes 22.5 days holiday. The minimum requirement would be term-time only (37 weeks), 4d per week. We are open to arrangements in the middle to suit the nanny. Equivalent hourly rate of £17.50 per hour. Consistent hours will be required, but for the right candidate there is some flexibility on the precise start/finish times.
Our eldest daughter (P) is at school (Year 1 from September) in Rochester (2 minute walk away from home ) 8.30-3.15. Our youngest son (N) will be 9 months old and at home all of the time. Our middle son (J) will be almost 4. J is a lovely, gentle and content little boy but has global developmental delay and is currently non verbal, and would benefit from someone with SEN Experience (Speech and Language, OT, Makaton etc), though this is not essential. He is currently at nursery two days a week, and is in the process of getting a place at a specialist school. The other children have no additional needs.
We are both working and do not work from home, so our home is completely available to the nanny and children. We live close to central Rochester which offers a wide variety of parks, museums, libraries and baby / toddler groups within walking distance. We encourage an active lifestyle and for the children to spend plenty of time outside. No car is required for day to day but we can provide access and insurance on the family car for special trips/activities etc. We have a simple, consistent routine with the children and are looking for someone calm, collected and kind to form an important part of the children's lives during this formative time.
Role includes
Care of youngest son for the full day
Care of middle son when not at nursery/pre school setting (still has afternoon nap).
School Pick Up and care of eldest daughter after school
Preparation of Nutritious Lunch, Snacks and Tea
Childrens Bedrooms - keeping tidy
Childrens Washing
Keeping general house tidy where being used in the day to day care of the children
Details
Must be available to work term dates for both St Andrews Rochester and Kings School Rochester including inset days (min 37 weeks of the year)
Contract range option of between 37-43.5 weeks of the year
Happy to look at either 5 or 4 days per week
Gross salary range £26,000-£32,000 dependent on experience and exact working pattern agreed
£17.50 per hour
Holiday should largely be taken in the school holidays, but we will have some flexibility for important occasions and commitments.
Statutory pension contributions
No regular weekend or evening work needed, but additional paid hours can be agreed on mutual basis at overtime rate.
Will need to be/become Ofsted registered
