About Me

I am new to childminding, i live in a village outside Bedford, I have 3 daughters who live locally, between them they have 5 children, aging from baby to nearly 4. I look after these at different times. I love being with them engaging with them exploring their own individual interests.
I live with my husband and 2 dogs, one dog Poppy is 14 she spends most of her time sleeping. Winnie, the other dog is 3 and she is very much a part of the child directed area of my home.
I love looking at the world around us with the children, we think together, how do we grow fruit and vegetables, we tend them together; sowing seeds, watching the shoots grow and repotting them, we water the plants and think about what might be under the pots… so we look together!
My home is a home from home we think about life skills, laying the table for lunch and using cutlery, think about crossing the road on the way to the park where we walk Winnie or have a picnic, or a swing, or jump in puddles.
There’s lots of creative activities on offer in the setting I follow the EYFS working towards the 7 areas of learning; following a curriculum that is very similar to that of an early years provision, something that I am familiar with after running my own outstanding pre-school for 18 years.
I love singing and playing with sounds, this includes musical instruments and making instruments out of junk and available resources; empty pots and pans.
