About Me

Hello! My name is Jen, and I’m a dedicated, energetic, and highly organised individual looking to support a family part time as a nanny/housekeeper. While I don’t hold formal childcare qualifications yet, I bring with me 18 years of hands-on experience raising my three wonderful son, now aged 12, 15, and 18, alongside a demanding full-time career in healthcare.

My life has always been a balance of raising children, managing a busy household, and thriving in high-pressure work environments. Through this, I’ve become a master of multitasking, prioritising, and staying calm under pressure. I’m known for my enthusiasm, reliability, and genuine love for being around children, especially babies and toddlers. I truly miss the days when my own boys needed me every minute, and I’m excited at the thought of being able to give that care and attention to another family’s little ones.

If you're looking for someone dependable, experienced, and truly passionate about supporting families and caring for children, I would be delighted to hear from you.

My Experience

I am a registered mental health nurse with 16 years’ experience working across both young people and adult services, including 10 years proudly serving as an Army nurse. Until recently, I held a senior management role within the NHS, which I’ve now left in order to follow a new path that aligns more closely with my heart—supporting families, nurturing children, and bringing order, care, and warmth to the home.

Although I’m not yet certified in paediatric first aid, I am a trained nurse with up-to-date annual training in adult and paediatric life support, choking response, and anaphylaxis management. I am planning to complete a formal childcare first aid course imminently to complement my medical background.

As your housekeeper, I will bring:

A warm, engaging personality and a genuine love for children
A proactive, can-do attitude, and an eye for detail in maintaining a clean, organised home
Strong routines and structure for little ones, with a nurturing and playful approach
Experience in supporting children emotionally and developmentally, informed by my mental health background
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to adapt to the unique rhythm of your family life

I’m happy to help with everything from housekeeping, playtime, and nap routines, to meal prep, and laundry. Whether you need an extra pair of hands or someone to be a trusted, consistent presence in your children’s lives, I would love to be that person.

My Qualifications

As described above, I am a registered nurse, but I don’t currently hold any formal qualifications in childcare. As a registered nurse currently working for the NHS, I hold an enhanced DBS certificate

I am still working a few nights a weeks as a nurse at the moment, so am only available part time, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays between the hours of 8.45am and 17.30
