About Me
Professionally qualified Nursery Nurse, who is a self-motivated Team Leader with a wide range of experience in child care. I am currently completing my BA Honours in Early Years at the university of Bedfordshire. I love to work as a part of a team. I am a very down to earth person who likes socialising and making new friends. I like to be with people who can be serious when necessary, but also know when and how to have fun, like myself .
I like to have a social life, where I can meet up with my friends. I tend to go swimming every week at my local pool .I also go to a badminton club which takes place once a week . I believe that my family life is also very important and enjoy being part of a large happy and loving family .I really enjoy my life but take everyday as it comes.
I love working with children and treat children and families as I would like my own to be treated.
My Experience
I manage a team of nine staff and work closely with the baby room team to ensure a smooth transition from the babies to the 2-5 room. We have approximately 70 children within the 2-5 room. Each member of staff has key children and I support staff to complete their progress folders, trackers and then the progress matters. I take all of the children’s interests to plan for activities the following week on the daily and weekly planning. I take the staff’s opinions on activities and in put the information for the medium term planning. I have good relationships with the parents and staff and communicate well with them to pass information across. I have thirteen key children of my own including children with special educational needs in which I therefore carry out portages and I.E.P’s. I liaise closely with the senco team to ensure the children’s needs are being met and the staff within the 2-5 room are carrying out the I.E.P’s. While working as a nanny/ childminder in the afternoon looking after a lovely little girl, who also goes to Stewartby Pre School I care for her after the session until 3.15 I also look after her older sister depending on their mothers work commitments. My duties include making meals entertaining, and keeping the children safe.During my time with the family I helped care for the infant twins every weekend. I dealt with every aspect of childcare and found it very rewarding ,gaining more experience working with children ,as well as gaining a position of trust within the family.
