About Me
Hello, my name is Laura and I live in crowborough with my husband and two daughters Isla and Ruby.
I offer a calm, secure and stimulating environment for children to enjoy whilst engaging in activities and games provided for them.
With the children in my care I offer a well balanced in and out activity week, we aim to get fresh air everyday, whatever the weather.
Whilst we are renovating, I am able to offer a nannying role.
My Experience
I have 15 years childcare experience ranging from premature newborn twins to teenagers. I helped raise my neighbours premature twins as a 'mother's help' and since then have worked within special needs for the last 8 years.
I have experience with many disabilities including Autism, Down's syndrome and ADHD and have worked as a nanny with children with additional needs. I am currently a manager at a local pre school and have wide knowledge of the EYFS. I am also safeguarding lead at my setting.
My Qualifications
Through my special needs work I have completed many courses that have furthered my career. I have done a course in Makaton sign language as well as various courses in Learning through Play, Sensory Activities, Communication through Play and Intensive Interaction.
I have completed a Level 3 in Teaching and Learning of Children and a Level 2 in Safeguarding Children. I am a qualified HLTA.
As well as the above courses, I have done a 12 hour paediatric First Aid Course, and a Food Hygiene Course to support my business.
