Unreliable & Difficult

We moved our daughter from our previous childminder as we were looking for one a little closer. I am gutted we ever made the move, as it has been a disaster from day one.

We were given the complete run around, from cancelled days, last minute holidays, one day we were asked to do something/bring something the next day we weren’t aloud. We received a message about how our daughter had, wet herself and the childminder was so fixated about her rug, which she was convinced was ruined and messaged us three separate times about how she was going to need to bin it. There was no understanding, or helpfulness around why my daughter had wet herself in the first place (which is very unusual). Even more strangely, she had responded that she would be unable to take our daughter to the toilet because of coronavirus. They’re only some examples. It was just completely bizarre behaviour and very unexpecting from a ‘professional’ childminder.

Not only was my daughter terrified to enter her home in the morning, but myself, partner and mum all felt very uncomfortable with her behaviour and attitude.

We had, had enough after a handful of weeks and handed in our notice. After disputing her ‘policies’ she luckily terminated our contract early and we were refunded part of our money. (She withheld part of it for reasons such as holidays which she had already agreed not to charge us for and late payments, in which she believed the payment had not arrived for 3 days despite it being an instant transfer.)

There was no real desire or care to understand feedback, we were met with a combative response and a lot of deceit. Her concluding fabrications were quite remarkable.

As a parent, I would have expected a much more caring and supportive level of service which we have always experienced previously . Our experience with this childminder was stressful, disruptive and exceptionally disappointing for my daughter and ourselves.

I appreciate there are two sides to a story, we’re not perfect, and other people have had great experiences, but I am a little confused that we did not see the same side to her that is portrayed in the other reviews. Perhaps we were just exceptionally unlucky. Either way have thankfully returned our daughter to her previous childminder, who we have never had such issues with.

I am stunned and heartbroken to read this review, it is quite simply untrue.
Your child attended my setting for 6 weeks and there was never any indication that you were uncomfortable leaving her or that she was unhappy attending.
I'm sorry that you feel this way with my service after years of providing childcare to many families. I have not had any feedback like this and it is very unfortunate we weren't able to resolve our grievances.
This type of work is very difficult when it comes to disagreements as I'm vulnerable to malicious complaints and there's little i can do to defend myself.
Unfortunately we have had a breakdown in communication.

Amazing childminder !!!!

Kelly has looked after our son for 2 years who has now sadly left to start pre-school. Our son absolutely loved going to Kelly’s and enjoyed spending time with her family and two dogs who were both great with him.

He has enjoyed many days out and endless craft making. We were always kept up to date with pictures and messages and felt at ease when our son was there. Since being at Kelly’s he has come on leaps and bounds !

Kelly has been a massive part of our family and will go over and above for you.

We can’t recommend Kelly enough!!She is such an amazing childminder and a friend.

Couldn't recommend Kelly enough.

Kelly looks after my Daughter 2 days a week. My Daughter absolutely adores Kelly & her family. Her best friends are Kelly's dogs who have always been great around my Daughter, she adores them.

Kelly is really good with communication & regularly keeps in touch with us during the days my Daughter is there & keeps us up to date as to what they're up too with pictures & messages.
My Daughter looks forward to going to Kelly's & like they say, the proof is in the pudding. As soon as we mention Kelly & her dogs my daughter is at the door ready to go.

Kelly was great during the settling in process, with regular messages & pictures to reassure us. Kelly was welcoming, informative, amongst other things. She put at ease ensuring us our Daughter would be looked after whilst in her care.
We have seen a difference in our Daughters progress with learning etc & Kelly is keen to help bring out the best in her.

Great childminder, without a doubt. Would thoroughly recommend her 👍

My little boy loves coming to Kelly's after school he really enjoys his time there. There has been times when she has been supportive of me due to being a single parent and extra needs my little boy has. She has been great. Thanks Kelly for all you continued help.

Excellent Childminder

Kelly is really great with our daughter, friendly and reliable. Can't recommend Kelly enough. My daughter really enjoys her time with Kelly and has a really good bond with her. Kelly has really helped with her weaning issues aswell and I don't feel we would have progressed so well without her help.
