My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Steph, Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
It is my aim to provide quality, graduate lead learning experiences in a warm, homely environment. Giving children the best of my nursery experience with the benefited consistency and warmth of a childminder.
I have worked with children since 2008, working in management roles within ofsted rated outstanding nurseries, assisting in schools and working as a nanny. Now i have children of my own I have naturally moved into childminding and Im really enjoying them being a part of my work and getting to spend time with them every day.
My interest in children’s learning lead to completing a Bachelors degree in Children's Learning and Education as well as previously achieving my NVQ 3 qualification in childcare.
I have paediatric first aid and I have completed a number of other short courses to help support children’s learning and behaviour. I have experience and training working with children with diabetes, epilepsy, autism, down syndrome and speech impediments.
I am a fun and caring person and I thoroughly enjoy my job working with children, I feel it’s a privilege to observe the children grow and develop and to be a part of their early learning journey.
I live in woodley with my husband, my two daughters and my cocker spaniel- Obi (as much as we love him, he is kept separate from my mindees throughout the day).
We are conveniently located with easy access to Winnersh triangle, A329 and M4, and i am lucky to be within walking distance to dinton pastures, soft play, shops and parks, where we make regular visits to. I am also lucky enough to have a bus stop outside, and even though we mainly travel in my car the children love taking bus rides into Woodley.
In my spare time I enjoy seeing friends and family, crafts (when I have the time!!) travelling and cooking and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with the children i work with.
The Environment:
I have a playroom in my kitchen/diner which leads out into the garden which we free-flow into. I also have a dedicated summer house that I use for childminding where we do a lot of messy play and creative activities.
I have a variety of resources which reflect the children’s interests and I really enjoy using “loose parts” with the children such as wooden curtain rings and carpet tubes to see where their imagination take them!
My Experience
I have worked in the early years sector since 2008 and hold a BA honors degree in children's learning and development as well as a NVQ3 in children's care and education. I feel very honoured to have been rated outstanding by ofsted and I hope this shows in my practice.
I have worked as a SEND co-ordinator and have supported children In settings with different learning and medical requirements.
I have held different positions in childcare settings including management roles within day nurseries, supporting a reception teacher and also as a nanny.
I have also had a lot of experience babysitting for different families throughout my career.
I also have my own daughter who is 2 in September
