About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder, living in Cranfield.
Previous to deciding to become a childminder, I was a qualified primary school teacher and I have now been childminding 10 years. I have two children age 12 and 5.
Working with children in the early years is my passion, and I find it amazing watching and discovering how young children learn through play and meaningful learning experiences. I have a welcoming home with a garden and have a wealth of different resources and activities for all ages that cater for all aspects of the early years foundation stage and above. I have a focus on open ended play, exploring outside in nature and learning about the world around us.
I thoroughly enjoy creating messy and sensory play opportunities for the children I work with and I have in the past also run my own successful messy play business in the local area.
I am a creative person and enjoy thinking of new fun activities that I can do with my daughters and other children. I also have passes to the National trust, English heritage and I visit local groups and places such as the library and soft play. I use these to full advantage with the children I look after as well as visiting local parks and lakes. We also spend a lot of time outside in the woods being in nature, as I find this is where children learn most and are happiest.
We spend a lot of time building dens, jumping in deep muddy puddles, sliding down muddy banks and learning about nature and the world around us. Nature is life's greatest teacher.
Despite being a fully qualified teacher, I have also attended many courses to further my knowledge to provide the best for the children I look after.
I am fully paediatric first aid trained, DBS Checked and hold a food health hygiene certificate..
Aside from this I enjoy making things (in particular knitting and sewing!) cooking and baking, and going for walks with my family.

My Experience
Being a qualified primary school teacher means that I have experience looking after a wide variety of children and ages as this involved working not just in schools, but also in early years settings as part of my training. Having my own daughter means I am also experienced in looking after young children and babies.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified primary school teacher.
I have a 1st class degree in education studies.
I have a current CRB check.
I am first aid qualified including a full paediatric first aid certificate.
Level 1 Makaton trained
I have attended courses on the early years foundation stage and I have completed safeguarding training.
I have completed a course on autism
I have completed a food hygiene course.
Full clean driving licence.
I am committed to improving and reflecting upon my practise so will continually undertake relevant training for childminding.
My Availability
Monday to Thursday 7:30am until 5pm term time only.
Pick ups and drop offs at Cranfield church of England Academy, St Peters site and Little Cranes preschool.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour

I accept childcare vouchers and the tax free childcare scheme.
I offer the 2, 3 and 4 year old funding for 15 and 30 hours and will be accepting the funding from 9 months from September 2024.
