About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder, childminding for nearly 17 years. I live with my husband and my two daughters in IP3 (close to hospital/A14 and public transport).
I have a purpose built log cabin built from recycled and reclaimed wood which the childminded children call 'the little house' at the bottom of the garden.
I provide a home to home, happy loving caring environment where every single child is listened to, valued and cared for. All children are treated as 'one of the family' and as such children all have close bonds with each other and myself. I truly am passionate about providing the very best care for all the children and strive to better myself in order to greatly help the children's outcomes and provide a firm secure base to go forward to school with.
My Experience
I am a registered Childminder and a member of the PACEY. I have extensive experience of looking after children whether that be my own or other peoples. I have been childminding for 17 years and in that time I have been dedicated to learning more about how children learn and develop. As such I have extensive knowledge and experience of theory, practice and how to merge the two to ensure all children have the very best start in life.
I have experience of children from birth up to teenage years but I mainly have children aged 3 months- 9 years old.
I have looked after a variety of children including children with additional needs and medical conditions and each and every child is given the time and care to flourish.
I have just started my accreditation in The Curiosity Approach and am very much looking forward to implementing and embedding this within my setting.
I am enrolled on cohort 4 of the Early Years Profession Development Programme (EYPDP) starting in April 2024, this is a government funded programme to raise attainment within the Early Years after the impact of covid on Early childhood.

My Availability
I am flexible with hours and as such may accommodate upon request earlier or later hours than the 7-6pm.
I am registered to provide Early Years Funding 15 and 30 hours funded hours for 9 month old upwards. I am also available for school drop offs/pick ups for Murrayfield Primary school only.
Iām flexible and accommodating to parents work needs so please feel free to contact me if you need childcare.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Please ask for details of hourly rate/daily rates. All fees are fully inclusive of day trips, snacks and activities . I also accept childcare vouchers and offer Early Years funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
Funding for 9 month olds starts from September 2024

Tara has been extremely supportive with my two boys over the last 3 years while I've done my nursing degree. She is a brilliant childminder and is always very flexible and understanding. Both my boys adore tara and always love being with her.

As a first time mum I was obviously anxious about how my little one would settle in with a complete stranger, but by the 3rd time I dropped him off, there were no tears only the slightest grizzle, and the 4th time he reached his arms out for her! He now does so every morning - and sometimes even when I pick him up he reaches back for her!
The log cabin is a beautiful setting, as well as taking him on day trips. She keeps us updated with his progress via an app so we can see what he's been up to, and writes in his diary so we know how his day has gone. I never thought I would feel so reassured leaving my son with someone, but I know that he is very safe and happy when with Tara, which makes me very happy :-)

I have girls, one is 8yo and the other is 3yo. My 3yo is really a very difficult one as she's really really shy despite that, Tara has been very accomodating and patient with her. With that, when my kids got home, they couldn't stop telling stories how much they enjoyed their day in Tara's place. Thank you very much for looking after my kids. š

Tara is a very kind and loving Childminder which my daughter Lily adored in the time that she spent there. Taras two daughters are very kind and welcoming to all of the Children that walk through Taras doors and her home is a very relaxed and caring place to be.
Tara always kept my daughter entertained whether it be taking her to the park, creating a treasure hunt or playing with gooey jelly in the paddling pool outside. Tara is a trustworthy person who I would highly recommed to anyone. Her family are kind and I felt confident that my daughter Lily was very happy there.

Tara is an outstanding childminder, Our little girl Chloe is so precious to us and Tara understands how hard it is to leave your child whilst you work. Chloes time at Taras is filled with fun, laughter and love. Her home is homely and her own children and the other children she cares for are all so friendly, caring and welcomed Chloe and helped to look after her when she joined. Chloe has learnt alot about animals at Tara's and loves her dog Chip and the cats, Just wanted to say a special thanks, for caring so well for my Chloe and for becoming a dear friend of ours who i trust totally.
