About Me
I am an ofsted registered childminder, I work from my home setting with my daughter, Kate.
We live in West Heath very close to main bus routes and both Northfield and Longbridge train station are within walking distance.
I have 4 grown up children and 12 grandchildren, Kate has 2 teenagers of her own.
We are home from home child care providers. We love nothing more than having fun and lots of laughs but learning as we go. We want all children in our care to grow and thrive as individuals.
We usually have fun packed days, where learning through play is never a chore. We often attend local playgroups or childminder support groups and love a day at the farm with a picnic or just a wild walk in the woods. But you can’t beat good old messy play (spare clothes WILL be needed!)
Snacks and home cooked meals are provided.
We work closely with families to make sure every child’s needs are met, and regularly update parents on their child’s progress. We work flexible hours depending on parents requirements.
We often attend the latest courses available and stay up to date with training and legislation.
We can also offer 2-3 year old funded places and also 4 year old funded places. We also registered for the tax free childcare scheme.

My little boy has been going to Dawn for a few months now and he has settled in so well. Dawn provides lots of fun filled learning and a variety of opportunities for the children to explore , my son has come on leaps and bounds already and especially likes attending a local playgroup where he has made many friends.
Dawn is a very warm and caring person who provides a safe and enriching environment for all of the children in her care.
I would highly recommend Dawn if you are looking for a childminder with lots of experience, knowledge and love for children and for the job that she does☺️🥰

Our little boys have been with Dawn & Kate since they were around 10 months old and they are now 4 and 2!
They absolutely love going, they race into the house in the mornings without looking back to say goodbye! They ask to see Dawn & Kate on a weekend which is testament to how happy, settled and well cared for they are whilst there.
They come home with stories of their day, what they had for lunch, the crafts they have been doing and are always super tired ready for dinner, bath and bed!
They love their mornings at playgroup, and spend their days doing lots of activities dependant on events throughout the year from celebrating Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, Easter, visiting splash pads and having picnics in the summer, autumn events such as pumpkin picking and lots and lots of Christmas activities!
Both of our boys are really independent and have wonderful manners both verbally and whilst eating and I know a lot of that is due to positive encouragement whilst with Dawn & Kate! It’s a home from home for our boys and we are forever grateful we found them back in 2021!!
We would recommend them both to everyone!

Kate and Dawn have childminded two of my children over the past 4 years. Both children as they have grown & left to go to school have both expressed how deeply they miss Kate & Dawn which speaks loudly enough! They’re very caring and nurturing throughout the most important development stages of a child's upbringing, the children always come home happy, smiling, and usually with lots of art work! We could’t have chosen a better place to safely leave our children, and we’re grateful for that. They both should be proud of themselves, They go above and beyond. Day trips, play group, party’s the kids have done it all there. If you want to safely leave your children in a setting you know will be fun, exciting, and developing, give Dawn and Kate a call! It was sad they had to growup and leave, many thanks for the last 4 years :)

Dawn has been taking care of my daughter for nearly a year, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her! My daughter was initially quite anxious about starting with a new childminder after a difficult experience previously but with Dawn’s warm and nurturing approach she quickly settled. My daughter now loves her time with Dawn, she constantly tells us how Dawn gives the best cuddles and all the new things she’s taught her! She always returns with a smile. We’ve noticed a tremendous improvement in her confidence and overall development and as a family, we can’t recommend Dawn highly enough.

I have sk much trust and faith both dawn and Kate my daughter has thrived so much since being with you both she's always happy to be at with you guys seeing how much she's learning and how excited she gets to come back to you both it isn't gonna be nice her leaving and going in to school when that time comes as we all know poppy loves you both thank you for everything you have both done for my 3 babies highly recommended.

My little boy has been well looked after by Dawn and Kate for the past year. He has been going everyday and has loved going to play group and playing with the other children. I am only leaving them as we have moved out of area if i could pick them up and bring with me i would thank you again ladies for looking after my little boy xx

Dawn and Kate have been looking after my 9 month old and I cannot fault their incredible care. My daughter’s development has come on leaps and bounds and she loves her days with them. It’s made it so much easier to return to work when I know she is in such amazing hands and loves her time there. She will stay with them until she starts in school.
