About Me

Hello, my names Claire and I'm a registered childminder and nursery nurse living in the village of Cwmavon.

My house is semi detached and I have a enclosed registered rear garden, where the children can enjoy outdoor activities.

I adhere to the foundation phase, where play is always at the centre of learning and the children enjoy arts and crafts particularly during Christmas, Easter etc

I have a few childminder friends and we often go out in groups so that the children can experience play dates with other childminding children to places such as The Gnoll Country Park, Play Centres, Aberavon beach, Playgroups and other.

All meals, drinks and snacks are provided as part of the package, children do not need to bring packed lunch unless they would prefer to do so, dietary requirements are catered for and a full list of allergens is available should you require it.

I've had my kitchen inspection from environmental health and received an excellent food hygiene rating.

All day care children have a personal diary when they start which highlights what they have been up to and eaten during the day and when a child finishes at my setting they are given a file with pictures in of their experiences which they can take home and treasure.

Starting your child in a new childcare setting can be a difficult experience for both parents and children, therefore your more than welcome to come along with your child until they become familiar with myself and the environment. I do offer a settling in session before your child starts, however if a child is having a particularly hard time settling in it maybe be advisable to reduce your child’s sessions and gradually increase them as they gain confidence.

I am a member of the professional association of childcare and early years, and I hold public liability insurance.

My partner and I both have Disclosure and barring service (DBS) checks
