Hi
I have been an established Ofsted Registered Childminder now for 25 years caring for children from birth to 11 years in my own home in Lydiate which I share with my partner. Prior to this I worked for Natwest Bank for 17 years from leaving school.
I drive a 7 seater (which is fully insured for business use) and hold a clean driving licence.
I am well known locally as I have lived in Lydiate since a child and have a good rapport with local primary schools, nurseries and toddler groups alike
.I am a member of PACEY (formerly NCMA ) and hold public liability insurance through them.
My Experience
I have worked as a Childminder for 25 years now and have cared for children from as young as 14 weeks old. I also have experience of caring for twins.
I regularly attend local playgroups, parks, Ruff woods etc as well as occasional visits to Safari Park, Farmer Ted's, Windmill farm, Fun factor etc.
I have a fully equipped attractive designated playroom which accommodates children of all ages with an extensive range of activities and opportunities. I have a garden with plenty of open space for children to play along with a decked play area with mud kitchen,sand,water and opportunities for children to explore within the EYFS 7 areas of learning and development. I live opposite to a park to enable further physical play.
In my last Ofsted inspection on 7th Sept 2022 I retained my "Outstanding" grade and a copy of my report along with my policies and procedures is available upon request. I have numerous cards/letters of thanks available to view along with references from previous parents if preferred.
My Qualifications
I gained my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning & Development in 2009 in conjunction with Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College.
I currently hold Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding children, Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety in th Workplace Level 2 certificates along with numerous certificates for Surestart training courses covering all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
In January 2014 I became an Accredited Childcare Provider enabling me to offer 15 hrs funded care each week during termtime to children aged 3 & 4 yrs commencing the term following their 3rd birthday just as nurseries do.
This has now been updated to include the funded 15 hours from the term after a child reaches age 9months up to the age of 3 for those who meet the criteria. This gives parents more flexibility whilst still enjoying the financial benefit of the Government funding scheme.
My Availability
My working hours are 7.30am-5.30 Tuesday-Friday.
I currently have a waiting list for preschool vacancies for 2026.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees vary depending on part/full time and before/after school but include drinks, snacks and days out. Parents usually provide a packed lunch for their child. I prefer to discuss rates on an individual basis depending on the needs of the family.
My Local Schools
This childminder has not yet informed us whether or not they provide any drop off or pick up services at local schools.

We can't thank Diane enough for everything she does for our daughter. To repeat the comments in other reviews, we really are lucky to know, that as hard as is it to go off to work and leave our little girl, she is very happy and loved in Di's care. The children are always happy, being busy little bees, sharing and playing. Our little girl has formed some lovely bonds already even at the age of 3 and loves being with Diane and her little pals. We could not wish for anything more.

Our daughter is currently with Diane full time and has been since 11 months old. Going back to work after mat leave was made 100 times easier by Diane and we are eternally grateful for how amazing she's been. S absolutely loves her time with Diane and we couldn't be happier knowing that she's in a loving, safe, fun and stimulating environment. S wakes up now asking to go to see Diane and all of the children there and often doesn't want to come home! Diane provides the children with nothing but the best, and is always coming up with new things for them to do and places to go. Knowing that S is still able to do the things that I would have done with her had I not been in work is brilliant and very reassuring. Diane has a fantastic reputation in the local area and children that she looked after years ago still come back to visit her which is a testament to how loved she is by all. We are very privileged to have Diane looking after S and would recommend her to absolutely everyone.

My child stayed daily in Diane's care from the age of 1 until she started school, My little girl loved going to Diane's and still loves going round to her her now. Diane was like a second mother to my child, loving and caring, and i was happy and relieved to know that my child was happy and content and that my child was safe in Diane's care. Diane will do as much as she can to help you and make things easier for you. Brilliant service and the children she looks after are lovely. I can assure that there is an excellent atmosphere there and your child will love being there, lovely Garden area with children's outdoor play equipment for all ages along with an inside play room. very clean surroundings. I competely recommend Diane to anybody and i personally wouldnt go anywhere else.
